Not sure what the deal is, I know it's not a super high end 4070 or anything but the cooling is adequate.
I've gone as far as undervolting and underclocking the card to the point that the GPU and memory will hit 68C and 72C respectively under load in Space Marine 2 (Settings cranked as high as possible, DLSS Quality, 90 FPS cap)

The problem however, is the 105.7C hotspot temps??? I reckon it's a VRM, but I can't possibly know without a thermal camera which is far outside of what I deem necessary for a problem like this. At that point I may as well buy a new card.
Any ideas?

The card isn't throttling naturally because the GPU and memory thermistors aren't registering a high enough temperature.

No, hot spot is the report from the hottest sensor, of which there's more than one, on the gpu die.

Well, that's because hot spot limit is 110C. Your card is not quite there yet.

Return the card for another one, or repaste the gpu core.
Thanks for the wisdom.
I never could find the hotspot limit on google no matter how long I searched.

Core was repasted before this, and the hotspot temps were even higher beforehand.
Sounds like a return is on the horizon.
