I built my computer around 3 years ago, so it was about time to clean the insides anyway. I've tried spraying compressed air into the case (taking every basic precaution) which did fix the problem for a bit, but it ended up stopping again.

My case is a Xion XON 310 BK, a cramped, ugly mess of wires and twist ties. The fan itself isn't screwed into the case, but I don't know how to remove it. I can't even get the cable off of the motherboard because of how slippery my thumbs are.

I really am frustrated. I just want to play games on my computer!

Almost all computer cases the front panel pulls off to allow access to the fan underneath. I tried to find a video or picture of that exact case to see how to do it, but could only find unboxing/reviews. Sounds like the bearings are shot which happens on cheap fans. You're going to have to figure out how to get to the fan and replace it, wish I could help more but there is no instructions I can find even on the manufacturers website.
