Hello,

I'm looking at two vps providers, one of them says they provide NVMe storage, and the other says they provide SSD RAID 10 storage.

I do not know the differences between their performance (still trying to relate info from internet).

My use case is wordpress websites and other webhosting projects.

Kindly, could someone offer some insight? I'd really appreciate.

Altho, do you have a sort of idea you can provide me on the following matter?

I'd like content-fetching to be fast on the websites, such as images. Do you have a guess on how fast a NVMe storage would do it than a SSD raid 10?

Also, do databases exist on storage? If so, I'd prefer NVMe for faster inputs and outputs to/from the database, I think.
 
Raid, in any form is not a performance enhancer. Not even raid-0.
Raid is used to provide insurance specifically against a drive failure.

NVME is an access protocol that allows faster sequential processing of drives. Some 3x to 10x faster than sata in benchmarks.
But, that is a bit of an illusion since most work is done randomly and even sequential work is interlaced with cpu processing.
Lastly performance will be based on the slowest link in the chain which is likely the internet connection.

The claims are mostly marketing, I think.
Perhaps you could try out both and then decide.

This is a question of how much total space do you need? Are you deploying a database backend for these website(s) ?
What is the REQUIRED response times for your websites?
In general, I would get the RAID10 because the VPS provider can swap a failed drive without impacting your uptime.

Both providers offer a enough amount of storage. Though SSD RAID 10 one's provide larger which may remain unused.

The databases will be on the same server. Are database I/O speeds affected by NVMe/non-NVMe?

Required response time would be, faster the better 🤔

I'm deciding to get the server with SSD RAID 10, as the server provides some more dedicated cores than the ones with NVMe (6 rather than 4, 14 rather than 10 - amd epycs).

That is likely to be more important.
The first one provides mentions a connection of 1Gbps, and the second one mentions 2.5Gbps. I believe the 1Gbps would be pretty enough as thats what most vps providers provide as per my searches online.
 
I posit that it makes no difference on your end. Anything beyond spinning HDD is fine.
And not nearly enough info to make a recommendation.

Many other things come into play, before nitpicking about various types of solid state.

CPU, RAM, how many users, how many concurrent users, what is their failover procedure, bandwidth and I/O throughput, expected downtime(hours per day/month/year), etc, etc, etc...
