So i think i have decided on these parts to build my own Gaming computer, i just need some feedback on whether the computer will run games such as WoW very well and whether the whole rig will come together nicely. Any advice would be appreciated. I am within a $1000 budget very tight, so if you suggest different parts, try to stay within my price range. Also, i do need a video card i already have an XFX 250 gts.

several problems, that power supply won't fit in that case. There's only 3 cases it fits in (antec1200, antec P183, antec P193).

The motherboard you picked uses DDR2 memory, you have DDR3 memory in your list, it's not compatible.

You're using a rather outdated Q6600 CPU, you'd be better off using a newer/faster CPU.

the psu is ridiculous overkill

the external hard drive is in a case . You need a hard drive to fit inside your computer

the Q6600 is ancient , power hungry and not price competitive

the ram you have selected is a triple channel DDR3 kit designed for intel Ci7 motherboards
AND it wouldnt fit in your mb which takes DDR2

you do or dont have a gts 250?


the intel socket 775 is at the end of its production life . Its a bad time to be buying in to this technology .


We will help you build a computer , but read the sticky about advice at the top of this forum and get back with a budget and monitor resolution and what you intend to do with the computer

Aside from the fact that you setup is FUBAR?

Try again using the format shown in the link skora posted.

I will go down a brief list of issues
Triple channel ram is not needed for anything that is not an i7
You are going to be using an external drive as your primary HDD? I hope you dont mind super long boot times
That PSU is massive over kill for a GTS 250, thats overkill for a GTX295
The ram you picked is also PHYSICALLY incompatible with your motherboard

Try again using the format suggested, link to your parts and we will set you up with a much better build.

OK, here is an update. I will use an XFX 250 GTS graphics card no matter what system i make. Im not sure what the top resolution is for 20" monitor but that is what i will use also.. Here is a revised list of parts, tell me what you think.

Alright, im going to give you an AMD build because with a monitor an i7 is out of your range and you can get a much better AMD build than the intel build you just listed which wont even work.

$990 before MIR and wayy better than the configuration you were looking at with the gts250, if you are willing to get an antec 300 you can move up to a 4890 which is even stronger and much better suited for 1920x1080 than the gts250
