Question New GPU, 144 hz doesn't work now

Hello. I just bought an EVGA RTX 2070, but i can't use my DVI cable like i did with my old card (GTX 1070), so i bought a Display Port to DVI cable (this one https://www.av-cables.dk/displayport-til-dvi/displayport-til-dvi-kabel-1-m.html) but i can only choose 60 hz now, not 144 hz. My monitor is BenQ XL2411.

EDIT: I can choose 120 hz if i set my resoulution down?

Okay i think i got it. But just as a confirmation that i got it right: I can't use this adapter i need a dual link cable, but as my new gpu doesn't support DVI, i need a new monitor?

An dual link adapter should work depends if you want to spend money on one. They can be expensive for a cable.

For high refresh rates you'll need either:

new graphics card with DVI-dual link output or​

new monitor with DP input or​

rather expensive DP->DVI link adapter.​

Nope. That one supports Max 60Hz @1080p.

Glenwing does suggest a DP to DVI DL active adapter in that chapter you read if interested.
