I have been experiencing overheating issues that shut my computer down for weeks. I am running in performance mode with 90% max processor state however my temperature is still increasing even when I am only using internet browsers and my monitoring software. I've seen my temp as high as 89 degrees before shutting itself down. It is a stock gaming computer from bestbuy however the graphics card has been upgraded to a NVIDIA GeForce 1050Ti ( I don't know what was in it prior)

I have cleaned out all the dust from the fans and heat sink, re-positioned the case fans done a factory reset and still overheating. while cleaning the fans I did remove the thermal paste so I know i need to replace that but will that really reduce my heat by that much? I don't want to purchase just thermal paste if my solution is to buy a new heat sink which would come with it.

So my question is, is my solution likely a new heat sink with thermal paste, a new PSU or simply thermal paste on its own. I am new to this computer stuff and dont fully understand voltages and the PSU side of things (I'm really hoping it is just the heat sink not the PSU simply given the price)

Hardware:
Motherboard: MSI 760 GM-P34 (FX) (MS-7641)
CPU: AMD FX-4300
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 1050Ti
Memory: DDR3 16Gb Dual channel
PSU: Thermaltake 350 (PP-350NL1NC-A)
Heat Sink+ fan: CM12V
Case Fans: 80mm pointed at motherboard, Bedroom fan pointed into PC case.

Below is my monitoring system:
HWKMonitor 1
HWKMonitor 2

Solution
If you removed the paste you should put it back on after you cleaned it. Also the cooler can caurse overheating if its not working correctly but not sure about the PSU safe bet is to buy an cooler and test it out.

Question is there any paste on cpu now?

None on the CPU now. Im ready to pull the trigger on a heat sink/fan + thermal paste today, just wanted to make sure im not dealing with a PSU issue first

Thanks for the advice! I've ordered a cooler Master hyper 212 Evo and should be here in a bout 2 weeks, I've removed the motherboard to prepare for the install. Do you know what kind of temperature difference I might expect going from a CM12V (stock cooler that came with the PC) to this new cooling system?
