I bet it's still warmer than summer in the UK.

In regards to pricing? stock? or both? lol

Performance, if your current card is still able to play the games you want to play then hanging on to them for a couple of months whilst supply issues and any bug fixes get worked out just makes sense IMHO.

I'd wait. You can always play CS:S and the Zombie Riot server for a while. IP address is 94.23.211.110:27025

I have played almost 1000 hours on it. Plus I have a handful of games that run on my little old, once gaming laptop, running a 32 Cuda core graphics card. Just in case I am without a graphics card or my PC. I kept my old 650 ti boost just in case too.

Or go for some classics. When I'm on bussiness trips I have my laptop that I bought for productivity, so I intentionally looked for one w/o a GPU(you know, so that I don't unintentionally start gaming).
ol' good stronghold still works and keeps me company at airports ^^

i saw this today from newegg since we spoke of it couple days ago. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127952 the seahawk with EK waterblock is $809. i have not priced any other waterblocks but that seems high to me since they tend to run around $100 and custom cards can be had for $620-650 on the low end. might be a bit overpriced but i don't really know what pcb it is on. if it is a FE one or maybe the gaming x pcb. i don't really know that yet.

EK has 1080 waterblocks for around $130 and I believe there are some new 1080 blocks with RGB for around that price, too.

I'd say $800 is reasonable for the no hassle solution. $760-$780 would be more desirable, though.

it looks like it is based on a FE pcb which would make the price pretty decent for an add on to a $700 card. dimensions and power connections are similar to FE. and we know an FE can easily hit those clock speeds especially on water cooling.

i had not looked and did not realize the waterblocks were $130. i had $100 stuck in my head for some reason.

Going from $599 MSRP with a ~$130 block, yeah, it should've been $750 absolute tops. But, you know, they want to squeeze all what's left of your wallet ^^

something else we have been waiting for. finally seeing the high end models showing up with specs. here is the Gigabyte extreme gaming finally with clock speeds. oc mode is pretty good but will probably cost a fortune for what we already know won't be too much better performance in game. http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5920#kf

Boost: 1936 MHz / Base: 1784 MHz in OC mode
Boost: 1898 MHz / Base: 1759 MHz in Gaming mode

apparently going to be a watercooled one as well with similar clock speeds http://wccftech.com/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1080-xtreme-gaming/

Boost: 1936 MHz / Base: 1784 MHz in OC mode (2.3 GHz+ With Manual OC)
Boost: 1898 MHz / Base: 1759 MHz in Gaming mode

if it can oc to 2.3 ghz, then we might finally be seeing some custom bios nvidia is letting happen. let's hope so to make these high end cards worth the cost somewhat.

i'm getting a strong nintendo vibe with that card. it's different and i like it but not sure what the rest of the system would have to look like to compliment the colors and such.

a lot of people have asked me to include prices for the cards if possible. obviously i can't include prices from every country but i can add in some US pricing from some major sites. partpicker has no listings yet so they are no help 🙁

i'm going to include new card prices from newegg and amazon (not including the price gouging resellers) where available. this will at least give an idea of price when scanning the specs. keep in mind prices change regularly and most cards are out of stock right now. but i got time and figured i could scan some listings real quick 😀

You've earned a medal with this topic.

this is frustrating as it gets right now. newegg has multiple cards listed that are not on the companies product pages, so i do not even have them listed as existing. hard to match up what price goes with what. plus amazon is useless right now. i hate their site and if they have any actual listings that are not price gouging re-sellers i can't find them. so no amazon prices until they are easier to fins and from amazon themselves!!

but i added what i can find for basic pricing info from what is available on newegg. if anyone knows of any other site where i can find true prices for the cards, i'll be happy to follow your links 😀

JayzTwoCents reporting coil whine on the Gigabyte G1 and very high frame rates. 9:00 in this vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1YOJOxCDIk

I think if I go with any it will be with the Asus. I know someone above mentioned some pro-reviewer found a subtle noise on it. However it's meant to have concrete chokes that don't whine. OC3D TV said of the Asus 1080, if you open the case and put your ear right next to the card. You get the faintest of quietist tiniest fractionist coil whine on the Asus 1080. That's what I get on my Asus 980. Totally inaudible unless you ear is right on the card and then only extremely faint. (I used Painkiller Black Edition in the menus at hundreds of fps. It was either about 600 or 1500, but I can't remember.) I believe OC3D TV then.

My MSI 1070 arrived Friday and I have to say Nvidia killed it with the aesthetics on the reference cards.

No regerts on my purchase.

I've been using a r9 380 8gb and playing fallout I was getting 30-57fps on high settings, my 1070 pushed that up to 60fps constant(vsync is always enabled) on ultra with Nvidia game works stuff.

i like the reference design. it's different for sure, nicer than the amd "box" reference blower cooler. but i know many don't like it. i'd still not buy one personally, since custom cards are cheaper and a bit better. but i don't hate the design.

I quite like the look of the FE. It's all edgy. I don't like its performance, meaning the fan or then the card.

All the other major card manufacturers are about the same to me. I like the Asus, but it would be better without the RGB for me. I want the Asus card. Gigabyte and others seem to go with orange which is a bit off. MSI is OK.

Someone is gonna love it. Not for me to judge. Heehee...:pt1cable:

But, but it's the fastest by a whole whopping 1 or sometimes 3 frames per second so who cares if it has "lose your lunch" looks!

windowless case anyone??

i have seen multiple reports now of the real high end cards oc'ing to 2.2 and even 2.3 ghz. i wonder if the next round of high end cards will have custom bios. once of the cards said it had higher voltage than reference allowed. i also wonder how much of a performance increase it can be.

Yeh. My case is Fractal Design (Arc Midi 2) solid panel side. It's plain black with only a smallish badge on the front; understated.

I like to choose my GPUs on acoustics and temps.

Waiting until September or October here.

me too :) waiting for holiday sales to start-up. should be plenty of availability and prices will have leveled off to whatever they will, and we'll have plenty of reviews to know exactly what will do what and at what cost and what power needs, drivers will be better etc etc etc
