The Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 and TWIN2X2048-6400C3 are both listed as SLI certified, but the TWIN2X2048-6400C4PRO isn't. Does anyone know why that is? Does it even matter in this case?

It is obvious that none of this memory is "bad." I am merely questioning why the PRO version is not SLI certified, while the base model is. Would it be better to get the non-PRO model for this reason? I would prefer the PRO model, unless of course there is some important reason as to why the PRO version is not SLI certified (or listed as such).

I really dont know about that, thats why my Off-topic answer (or half-answered question) thats why I cannot tell you anything.

But, maybe if you ask that on the Memory section you will get your answer and share it with us 😉

Just when I thought I had decided on the P5N32 SLI SE Deluxe.... they come out with Premium edition. Let me see if I can get the differences straight.

The Platinum has:
nForce 590 chipset
Builtin wireless
8 SATA connectors (2 external)
DTS Surround sound
3 x16 PCIe slots (for SLI and physics card?)
and a few extra frilly add-on features from asus and nvidia 590 series
for about $85 more?

From the product descriptions, they seemed to have dropped the optical out jack and the CPU multiplier unlocker from the SE Deluxe which I would more likely use than a lot of the other features that they added on. I can't get a hold of any telephone product support and there is virtually no other published information. Actually there is this optical add-on thing from Asus which I just found that lets you add on optical for $16 more. And I guess the cpu unlocker could potentially be added on in a bios update? Why would they remove features from the Premium edition? even though the price is not too outrageous it seems like asus just wants to squeeze every last $ from the power users. I might order now, but what would be the biggest pros/cons of waiting about a week vs. ordering now with this board?

are all the 590 boards dropping the multiplyer option? everyone says if you want to oc get a 570 board but if not then wait for the 590's can anyone give some input?

According to Asus, the optical connection is in fact present on the P5N32-SLI Premium:

And, people need to stop whining about staying on topic. Unless some magical information concerning the release of this board is discovered (*yawn*), I see nothing wrong with discussing the compatibility of related hardware. Don't get me wrong... I'd love to find some more exciting news to post here, but I can't help the fact that Asus can't even... *grumble* *grumble* *grumble*

Recently there have been quite a few number of posts, which ask many of the questions already answered earlier in the thread. In this post I am going to sum up the features of the board one more time, give basic info, and hopefully answer all these questions. To the vetran thread-watchers, nothing new in this post, please ignore it.

The motherboard we are waiting for is the Asus P5N32-SLI Intel Edition. Do not confuse this board with the older version. The new version has the nForce 5 series of chipsets, whereas the old version had the nForce 4 series. Rumors and otherwise seem to state 9/9/06 as one of the most solid release dates we have for the board and only time will tell if this is true.

Here is a link to the board on Asus' homepage. The Zeus.asus.com means that it is not yet official, and technically not yet viewable to the public. Fixed by a simple google search, security is not their priority. Seems that Zeus is a content reviewing system for editing pages before their release on the global website. P5N32-SLI

The board sports the nVidia 590 chipset and all of it's features, found at the link below. nForce 590 Chipset

Do not confuse the nForce 590 chipset used in this board with the nForce 590 AMD boards which have been availible for some time now. Little is known on the stability of this board, overclockability, performance, or anything else related to heavy use. At this point only several test boards have been released, and they haven't been close enough to this board to really give a solid review. We are all waiting for this board, join the wait. Please post any new information you might have.

EXCERPT TAKEN FROM CLOAKEDHUNTER... The most confusion I've seen has been related to the model numbers of the different boards in the series:

Asus P5NSLI: nForce 570 Intel Edition (supports Conroe)
Asus P5N32-SLI Deluxe: nForce 4 Intel Edition (does not support Conroe)
Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe: nForce 4 Intel Edition (supports Conroe)
Asus P5N32-SLI Premium: nForce 590 Intel Edition (supports Conroe)

The board listed in bold is the superior product we are all waiting for, currently expected (rumored) to be released somewhere from 9/4 to 9/16, maybe (probably, knowing our luck) later than that.
END CLOAKEDHUNTER EXPCERPT.

It appears that the P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe board with the nForce 4 chipset that supports Conroe is a complete nightmare. Do not buy this board, we have firsthand experience to back up how poorly it performs, if it even works at all. The general concensus here is to WAIT FOR THE Asus P5N32-SLI Premium. It is the only board that supports Conroe and sports the nVidia nForce 590 chipset from the list above.

(On the off-chance that any of you vets read all that, did I basically sum it up?) Note: Some of the above information was taken from other writers, used without permission. This information remains under copyright, all rights reserved to their respectful owners.

Yeah, that sounds good to me. Although the most confusion I've seen has been related to the model numbers of the different boards in the series:

Asus P5N32-SLI Deluxe: nForce 4 Intel Edition (does not support Conroe)
Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe: nForce 4 Intel Edition (supports Conroe)
Asus P5N32-SLI Premium: nForce 590 Intel Edition (supports Conroe)

The board listed in bold is the superior product we are all waiting for, currently expected (rumored) to be released somewhere from 9/4 to 9/16, maybe (probably, knowing our luck) later than that.

Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe

My god.....do not buy that motherboard if you're trying to run Q-SLI or over 2 mb of ram.

The large amount of memory on the Video cards is causing some kind of conflict where it only detects 1 gb of ram. I flashed a beta bios in the mobo to a new beta version and it detected 2 gb. Wheres my other 2? lol. 4 gb does not work in this board...period.

Also, the Asus updater for upgrading your bios WILL NOT WORK if you have a newer sound blaster card. Some really goofy NT error pops up and won't let you use the program. I FORMATTED everything, started over, ran the Asus update program first and got it to work. I then installed my SB X-fi and bam.....the updater didn't work again.

On top of all that....2 of my hard drives were bad. One caused Windows not to load at all, the other just couldn't be formatted. Talk about a retarded day.

So in the end, I got that craptastic board above and it was a waste. WAIT FOR THE 590 chipset. I'd also suggest a manufacturer OTHER than Asus if this is typical of their high end products.

So now I get to rip apart the PC I just built and start waiting all over again. BAH

Thank you for the info.I had talked myself into buying the board because I was tired of waiting. You saved me alot of anguish.

Alright, I included CloakedHunter's information in mine, hope he doesn't sue me. Whenever anyone asks what's up with the thread, or a question answered in my post, don't hesitate to tell them to check out Corksil's post #17 on page 19. That or Msg #467.

Thanks.
Looks like we are hitting page 20. 😱

the review of the dfi board sais that the multiplyer is locked and can not go above 11X on the intel 6800X is that going to be the same on the Asus board??

"Another Reason why this appears a very beta BIOS is the lack of entry of one of the vital feature of the NF590 SLI Chipset: HyperLink, which is just essentially overclocking the PCIE bus to 125MHz when the 7900GTX cards are plugged in."

I thought it was called LinkBoost, and only enabled on nforce5 for Athlon CPUs?

Please explain.
