I did a little research and the c55 isnt even scheduled to be released by NVidia until the end of the year....

According to the DFI article, they have their best guys really pushing nVidia to get them out early and my bet is this is the same reason we haven't seen any Asus 590 boards.. they won't touch the C19 chipset either.

This explains a lot... it seemed odd to me that Asus had their 590 board on their zeus website ages ago but still no product... something technical HAD to be up with the nvidia chipset to cause this delay... now we know what.

Now Asus have bought/merged with Gigabyte, Asus + DFI together represent just about 99% of the top-end motherboard manufacturers.

With them both pushing nVidia to get something good out and stop jerking us off with old shit you can bet nVidia are burning the midnight oil trying to get the c55 590's ready and delivered ASAP.

whats teh downside to teh c19 chipset???
whats it do?
does it only concern the OC'er??

At first I thought teh was an accident, but then I saw it again. Not to be be a dick, but if you want to be considered part of the conversation...

well im sorry im not an uber geek like urself and dont know these things, ok mate.

either answer my question or keep it to urself dickhead.

You're right, that was uncalled for. I was a little pissed about the latest news concerning more delays.

It appears that the main concern is the overclockability. I think I'm walking away from this. I have a bad feeling that what is finally released will be less than desirable.

From what it looks like Asus is going to likely cancel their release too. I'll give it a few more weeks, but I would assume that they would want to wait until Vista comes out in 2007 so they can use more... Vista "features" (cough DRM cough), as well as stamp a "Designed for Windows Vista" sticker on it.

Unfortanantly, given the fact that most computer parts are outdated in 2.5 to 3 years, waiting another 3 months can be anywhere between 12 and 15% of the usefull lifecycle of the parts.

Anyone know of a good motherboard that will run a EVGA GeForce 7950 GX2 (non-Quad SLI setup), an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, 2 GB DDR2 800 RAM, and has onboard support for 5.1 surround sound?

Edit: Will the Asus P5B Deluxe support all of this?

Yes, dont waste $300 on something that will get way better in 3 months. I hope they release it on december cuz I will just get a 975 and then upgrade

Yes, Now we all want ASUS to delay them right? haha 3 weeks ago we were all screaming and were going to beat up ASUS for not releasing this board and now we just want them to be delayed and release a good ass sh*t

One thing that interests me is the fact that once they release a new chipset, they are probably going to release a whole new line of processors. So the Conroes will be obsolete in 4-6 months, too. Even the quad cores may be canceled or delayed to take advantage of this new chipset's bus speed.

Yes it will support it. Check here:

However if you're willing to fork out 30-50 more dollars, get the 975x chipset. The 965 has all the same features as the 975x, but the 975x has better overclockability.

But the 975x doesn't support the unlocked multiplier, yet.

We should all get the 965, very stable. If you want to overclock get the 975x.

Now Im gonna get a cheepy but good 965 to stay with it until december that is when people is saying C55 will be released. But this guy 5 answers over me is saying that they will cancel the Premium shipments? and start making them with C55? explain me that

just contacted asus and they said that they are still planing on realsing the product within the next 2 weeks. i was also told that they will be realsing it with the new c55 in about 3 to 4 months. i am gessing it will be just a new revision.

That site has shown that for the last 3 weeks.

Also, did they get the DDR2 800 RAM issue worked out of the P5B Delux motherboard?

Ok im getting a little lost here...

P5N32 Premium - Released delayed for yet another 2-3 weeks???

C19 - what is it? what advantages to gain from waiting for C55? If im not an overclocker should i just get the premium straight away? or is it best to buy a mid range 965 board and wait for the C55 P5N32 premium??? In which case whats a cheap midrange board that wont restrict an E6600, 2gig PC6400 DDR2 and a 7900GT from reaching near its full potential?

Because we didnt know we were going to get SO dissapointed with C19.

Also, C55 will not only make overclocking easily, but is going to add many new functions (interesting) fix errors made on P5N32 Premium (I doubt many will be found) and maybe add support for quad cores? because I doubt this Premium motherboard will be Quad Core ready....

I think I will just have to get a cheepy 965... Im not gonna waste $300 and then in January see this new board and spend another $300....

So the only reason to wait till january is for the ability to upgrade to Quad core in the future???

would i experience any difference between the P5N32 premium thats commin out nowish and the one in january if im running

E6600
2 gig DDR2 800
7900GT

???
I really dont wanna wait if its only going to benefit OC'ers or 7950's or quad core. as none of that will be on my list for quite some time.

I hate being such a news breaker to this ill informed forum.
All this C19-A(C1) being replaced by C55, mobo manufactures delaying their board are all old stuff to me which have been mentioned in this thread a month ago by me.

yeah we didn't know how outdated it really was.

it's not cheepy, it's actually a really good board.

You guys did know, from me, you just didn't want to listen and I can't force you to.
After that I kept the rest of the info confined to my OC forums up there since they didn't apply to you non-overclockers in here.

Kentsfield support is based on the VRM not chipset. As of now only Gigabyte 965P DQ6 has been confirmed, but that doesn't mean other current boards that's already on market won't. It's all about building a strong enough VRM on the mobo to support Kentsfield.

There was no reason for us to know with a side-gesture remark about the c19s. None of your posts were specific. Someone saying "The c19 is outdated" can mean many things. 1 month outdated, or 2 years outdated?

News have been clarified just some time ago, not everything that is released the first day is true or can be prove to be true.

and when I said cheepy 965, i meant a not too expensive

Wusy, what are the technical advantages of the C55 over the C19? Most importantly, are there any advantages not related to overclocking? Thanks for the information.

On a separate note, there are still no distributor SKUs for the Asus P5N32-SLI Premium, although I'd expect that to change very soon.

Well I never heard that the 590 were going to come with C19 until I saw the first motherboard (P5N32-Premium)... and now im dissapointed.

Its clear now, we will only have to wait for the C55. Is the best thing you can do.

Im sorry if for any reason (or ignorance) i made somebody get angry or useless.

Im just deceptioned

Are u only waiting for C55 because ur an OC'er? Or are there otherreasons?
