Well, I've got my newegg wishlist waiting for its arrival. 😀 I'll probably buy the board right away and wait till black friday to try and get the rest cheaper. Man, not even a week away and still no info from nvidia about the new 600 series. :?

I know how you feel, I have pondered just getting a "good enough" setup for weeks now. The waiting is killing me but its finally almost here.
I just hope it really is much better than currently available boards so I don't regret having waited so long.

I think that board looks sweet as hell. Hopefully they will ship enough to satisfy the first wave of buyers so I can jump on one when the price drops. 😛

Oddly enough, I received a invite to some sort of lan party myself. I believe it was related nvidia, but email was scanned over quickly and wil check again.

Needed to bring your own computer and there was prizes and giveaways. Will have to check it again for details. Made me wonder if this is when there going to announce the motherboards.

Will check it when I get home. We have some gamers in the management department and they keep checking over my shoulder for word....I have tried to hear any word from the developers that would give some insight, but believe there under orders not to reveal yet.

Anyways, I'm with you on the wait. The only thing I keep hearing is wait for the evga board. Pulling up a chair, making a pina colada and enjoying the breeze

I think you are one of the 300 affortunates that will go to the famous event of GeForce LAN 3. Thats great, I recommend YOU DO GO!.

Now, for 3lfk1ng, I know some "guy" posted too, but this is the original topic which started since august 20 if Im right and thats why people should stay here 😀

For jorberg, I believe ASUS is gonna release the board that day for sure. I dont know abou the eVGA board anyways I dont trust eVGA in the motherboards way, they are good for video cards but I wanna stick with ASUS in boards.

where did you see it on newegg? oh yeah, the zeus link doesn't work above

try to search for it on the seach field. You might find it. Still I always prefer ZZF.

BTW: ASUS might be still upgrading the webpage so make sure you stay alert!

I think he meant he has everything stored in his wish list....except the motherboard, ready to hit the buy button when the motherboard shows up. I think.

anyone know what the difference of the R600 and the 680i chipset are?

I guess the DFI landparty is already out

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=246517

Sorry I'm just trying to decide on a motherboard for a x6800. I haven't read all 49 pages. But if someone could let me know the pros and cons it would be great. Sorry first build as well. Just trying to make it a little special.

Err.. well for one the R600 is a video card...

Err.. well the biggest one is that the R600 is a video card and the 680i is a motherboard chipset...
assuming you mean the RD600.. that won't support SLI and its fsb is limited to 1066, while the 680i will support SLI and 1333 FSB.

So if the board is released on the 8th, when do you think it will be available at online retailers like newegg and zipzoomfly?

I'm definately having time issues. I'm supposed to sell my system to a guy over Thanksgiving Break, so I would like to have my new computer built before I get rid of this one. So basically I'm scrambling!!! I have the rest of my system picked out. I'm going to keep the video card I have right now (7800GT) and I just ordered a P180B....and I'm thinking I'm going to order a Thermaltake Toughpower 700watt PSU sometime within the next week. I just have to figure out if the cables are long enough for that case.

So basically I'm holding out on my motherboard!! I hope I can get it! I don't want it to sell out before I get one! :)

Yeah, my wishlist has everything but the board. But for kicks I added in the asus premium board and the total came out to be something like 1190.94. Not too bad; includes WD 250 Sata 16mb cache HDD, eVGA 7950gt (probably use the step up program later when a nice DX10 comes out), Intel e6600, G. Skill ddr2 800 2GB, NEC dvd burner, and the premium board.

Btw, I got my computer case in, and man it's sweet! The whole case looks like it was sanded down. Kinda like the brushed steel look, just black. If I do paint it, most of the hard work is already done; nice. 😀

As a late response to blewstar.
Obviously fan noise is not a problem for you. You should stick with the boxed cooler on the 6600. Even that cooler provides pretty good overclocking potential.. and since you arent planning to overclock, it will work just fine for you.

I am really hoping these boards become available soon though.. My mobo just crashed and ive been holding off on buying my system.. waiting for quad cores to dump the price of the dual cores down a little more. Waiting for the 8x series of nvidia cards to be available.. or at least trash the prices of the 7x series.. And waiting for a chipset that is entirely built around the dual/quad core platform.

I haven't done much research on ATIs chipset.. but I am afraid to go for that now that it is owned by AMD.. just because they won't be so quick to update their bios for intel platforms.

I have to admit, I am getting more and more excited and at the same time more and more nervous! Exceited because I want one of these boards NOW!! Nervous because I'm afriad it could take tooo long to get one!! no pre-orders anywhere and it's a week away!! Less than a week!!

Let's see who will be the first to spot one of these babies for sale some where!! LOL

No matter how much it costs, when it gets released or what retailer Ill have to use, Ill be the first one to get it.

Hopefully many people bought the 590 already 😀

Long time reader, first time poster... and a worried poster at that!
Anyone else notice the Asus has removed the Striker board from the zeus site? And on their Intel Socket 775 page, they no longer list the nforce 680? What's up with dat?

They have noticed the access to the webpage has been opened to everybody for enough time to see the name of the board, features etc.
Also, so many peoples visits makes it obvious.

They dont want to be reveling "not released" stuff yet. Hope they put it back soon cuz I like to see that webpage xD!

Hello everyone, new to this forum. Like most people here, I have been following the Asus Striker Extreme development and have noticed many of you referring to Asus’s Zeus webpage. Everytime I try and access this site, I have to enter a username and password. Is there a floating username and password that everyone is using, or am I missing something?
