Thats confidential information to people who work for ASUS only.

We dont use any username or passwords. We only find the direct link to the webpage of the motherboard and you can see it with no problems.

But now that is closed, I doubt you will be able to see it.

I tried the direct link that was posted in this forum a few days ago, but still couldn’t view the page because it requested a login. I am also an IT professional, but I don’t work for ASUS. How would I go about obtaining a Zeus login?

Well I think the only way you can get it is if you work for ASUS. Im gonna fix my post for my wrong guess.

Well I doubt you can get a login unless you know somebody that works for ASUS.

The page doesnt work anymore is blocked. the main page too so I dont know what to say...

Thanks for the info. I can’t wait for this board to be released. I have everything but the board. If anyone sees this board, please post as soon as you place your order (of course). 😀

I have everything except:

PSU
Video Card

Im NOT waiting for the 8800 series! just to let u know, well actually I am so the 7900 series lower their prices

LOL, does this tell you guys anything? This was the same kind of deal with the 590 being released. Release date after release date being pushed back and asus eating their words over and over... So they are learning and deciding to keep their mouths shut this time. 😛

I wonder how many times the 680i's release date will be pushed back. I already ordered a 590 and it arrives by UPS on Nov 8. Kind of ironic huh? I'm willing to bet that the 590 will still be the newest for a while when it arrives. 😛 But I wouldn't mind if I was wrong. Either way, I will actually *have* my computer next wed. 😛

No, but what else can I say? does anybody knows any other explanation?

NVIDIA is gonna have one of their biggest events in San Jose California called GeForce LAN 3. They officially said that they are going to announce the 680i chipsets together with the 8800 series videocards. There is no such thing as "delays", and if there is any, why shouldnt we wait a couple more days? it wouldnt hurt. I know you might say "yeah keep waiting until they announce the 690 and you will say I will keep waiting". Well my answer is no, Im not willing to wait longer, I will get the 680i and thats it. In addition if ASUS in any case does that, then I will just get the 680i and get ASUS out of my mind and start thinking about DFI, ASROCK, ECS etc.

From what I have read from Dialyteach and VR-Zone and NVIDIA site, I dont think they will delay it anymore.

Yes, that made me smile :) I hope the day it arrives you really enjoy that board because I will when I get my 680i. Hope you dont get jealous when you know what you are missing, but well everyone makes their own decisions.

Yes, of couse it will stay new. I would say until beggining of H2 2007. Then it would become mid-range motherboard which can still be good with the right components.

But I wouldn't mind if I was wrong. Either way, I will actually *have* my computer next wed

Once again, I hope you enjoy it.

Type in 680i motherboards in google. All the pictures that were out there with the copper tubing are gone!! There is ONE new pic, posted on AnandTech.

Could just be someone elses version of the board. But I don't see any of the pics we were seeing before.

If you mean the picture that DailyTech first said was an eVGA board then a FOXCONN board. It still there in google, just type 680i in images and it shows 3 pictures.

If you talk about the Striker-Extreme. Well I only know that the topic from extremesystems.org is gone since yesterday noon. But I still have the pics 😀

This is all I got

I just wanted to say I wasn't poking fun at you or anything. I just am a little frazzled waiting like most people are. If anything I'm poking fun at the fiasco known as the 590.

I'd wait some more, I just gave in last wednesday... Sort of like getting killed right before the war ends but whatever. I mean the 590 isn't so so bad is it? I mean, you say you'll have you 680i on wednesday too, but really they are just shipping it then *if* all goes as planned. I guess I'm just not ready to deal with another problem if it doesn't all work out. I'd really love to have a 680i. Well, in the end, atleast I'm saving 50 bucks, I got the 590 for 250 at directron....lol Won't the 680i be 300$ when first released? Anyhow, someone should do a comparison on 3dmark between the two boards when they come out. I'd love to see how the newer chipset stacks up. Good luck to all of you that didn't give in like me. Be strong! lol

Haha thanks!

Im tired of waiting too but w/e I dont wanna spend my money and then regret.
The 590 is not a bad board. But you need to know how to handle it. Many people had so many problems with it. So I dont really know what conclusion we have about this board.

Well time to leave the pc for a while. Ill be back in an hour maybe.

The only thing that's been stated about Price was that the 680i would be above $200, now HOW much above $200 remains to be seen. And it would probably depend on who's 680i motherboard you get.

Most e-Tailers priced the 590 betwen $280-$300. So I would say the 680i will stay in that range price for about 1 or 2 weeks then come down to $260-$280.

Only Time will tell!! I think you might see a few at $249.99 from the begining. To be honest....it doesn't matter a whole lot!! I'll be buying as soon as possible!!

This is the case I got. You can't really make it out, but the case has a black brushed steel look and is smooth as a baby's butt.

On the 680i, the price will probably be the same or maybe 10 bucks more than the Crosshair when it first released. Which was what? 270? Since the Striker is a ROG board, I'm guessing it will be 270-280 then drop slowly to 250. The premium 590 board is still 250. As for other brand names coming out with 680i's... they'll probably come out some time after the asus does, and even then you wont get all the bells and whistles the ROG can give you. I figured in 300 max for the board and my total comes close to 1300, but that's entirely acceptable(edit) to me. I've been saving my hard earned cash and once I know what I want, I got to get it. I can't just "compromise" for something cheaper. I know I wont be happy, so why fight it? I'll just work a little harder and in the end make myself happier.

What do you guys think? e6600 with asus striker or e6700 with P5NSLi?

Both will roughly cost the same, and I'm fine with getting the 570 and losing out on the bells and whistles of the striker if it means having the e6700.

OK....It's a new day!! A fresh morning!! Someone give me some good news! Someone tell me they saw one of the boards at some website some where taking pre-orders!
I'll be back in a bit!! Taking my Leonberger to the groomers!

Im not an overclocker, but I wanted a good memory so I went for the Corsair TWIN2X1024 1GB DDR800 PC6400 Cas Latency 4. Hope it gives me good results since I cant try it until I get my board.

Oooh! I do like that case. I didn't know about that one or I might have tried it. I ended up getting a Antec ninehundred just to try out. It's a little cheesy since it looks like a cross between the CMS stacker and thermaltake armor but it looked fun to try. It's the only one I could find that didn't have a door on the front(they drive me a little batty) and had a bottom power supply placement(sort of experimental but w/e, after having a computer almost tip over before, I wanted to try).

Here's a look at the one I got if interested.

I think I might exchange my 590 once the 680i comes out, after all, I haven't opened it or anything yet(it hasn't arrived).
