Something tells me that Asus is about to let us down. I have been waiting too long for a motherboard to start waiting again. They at least need to give us a release date. I did call zipzoomfly and they told me that this board would be released next week. <---- not sure how dependable this info is.

Ok, here's what you want to hear. I just got in the BFG 680i motherboards. 3 to be exact, and at a retail of $329.99. I'll get it at cost, though, and wont be available until I recieve them too. So maybe tonight I will be going home with one. The only thing that troubles me is how the Asus can't be anymore than $300 from newegg or likewise. And seeing as how it comes with the leds, lcd poster, i/o lights, etc; I was thinking, that if the BFG costs that much, then maybe the Asus will exceed $300 retail. And by a good amount. Also, here is the link to it on our website. Tell me what you think, I'll check back later today.

Nice, looks like the evga board. I have my mind set on the asus board. If it cost more that 300, ok by me at this point. I would almost pay anything to complete my computer. Have a beast of a machine at home, would be nice to enjoy it.

Yeah, the Asus will be the top of the line, but I really don't need all those bells and whistles and I didn't budget more than $300 (with tax or shipping) for the mobo. I was checking BFG's products on newegg to check their quality. It seems to me that BFG is doing quite well and delivering good products, so that seed of doubt is gone.

EDIT: Just noticed your post; since I'm getting an eVGA video card anyway, I might want to get their motherboard as well. Hmmm, if it's still in stock by tonight, then I'll buy one probably. Otherwise, tomorrow morning I'll just grab the BFG here.

I’m sure that their products are fine, I have two bfg 7800gtx’s and have had 0 problems with them; plus they have good tech support. I have an old build that used an asus board, so I would like to continue with asus to lower the possibilities of an os reload. Plus I have always liked asus. I will give them until next Friday before moving on to a new manufacture.

Any 650i mb's yet?

Why do you want the 650i? sure its less expensive, but later when sli and crossfire, 800 ram and of course quad core for future gaming... you'll just have to buy a new board anyways... save some cash and pay for the 680i. longer life out of the 250-300.

Personally, i think we are porbably going to have to wait for Striker...
But im feeling very impatient since my new machine has been moboless since August. Normally i've only dealt with Asus and MSI for mobos, are evga and biostar reputable?

I’m sure that both evga and bfg are buying another manufactures board and then slapping their sticker on it. Not sure about the dependability of either. Like you, I have been awaiting a mobo for my machine for a while. I am going to give it another week before I jump ship to different mobo manufacture. I heard from zipzoomfly that the asus would be out next week.

Does anyone know what 'bells and whistles' the striker board will have that the evga bored does not (aside from the ROG logo)?

Slim??? Are you OK??? We haven't heard from you in a page and a half?? Are you tied up on the phone locating YOUR board?? This is the quietest you've been since the string started!! LOL Maybe you passed out after seeing the ASUS Price!! LOL

$400! OMG! I knew it. Way over my budget. I'm just glad I got the eVGA already. I don't have to worry about them running out. And on top of that, I didn't have to pay shipping or tax, but went for the 2-day shipping anyway for like $3. 😀
