As of midnight last night EVGA/Nvidia released a new bios - Bios P23 (beta) - that is reported to fix the SATA issues many were having with the EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR board. A non-beta version of P23 will be released shortly. A full report of the bios fixes will be posted tomorrow on EVGA's community site. If nothing else, EVGA really seems to have their team working to resolve the problems quickly. Maybe they should have done this more before release, but I am still happy to see they are trying to fix their mistake. Let's hope this level of support continues and the 680i reaches its full potential! Initial reports have been mostly positive. See link below:

Well yeah it looks like at least eVGA is working on it. ASUS dont even give us any sign that they are working on the 680i issues people are having with their striker and p5n32-e...
 
Just to follow up with my previous post, it seems that the P23 BIOS update really did fix most peoples problems. People are reporting that they are no longer having SATA errors or BSOD's, some are even reporting a drop in core temperature. I take this as a very positive sign and almost conclusive evidence that their board did not have hardware issues, but driver issues. Good job eVGA, I know a lot of people were holding out on purchasing a 680i until this was validated.
 
Well I already had the case, 2 hard drives and power supply.

That still left motherboard, CPU, Ram... hell, add those 3 alone! then Optical drive (2)1 sata, 1 ide. hee hee!! I even got a standard floppy to be safe! LOL

Slim.... Have a great Holiday!! Here's hoping that neither of us have to make these decisions again! May we both strike it rich enough that we can just order what we want, when we want it!!

DAMNIT!

Newegg updated the ETA to 1/8/07!!! If this is true Im gonna go crazy soon.

BTW: Everytime they use to change the ETA, that same day at night they actually have it in stock... gonna be more carefull now.

I also truly enjoyed this thread for the last few months. I really learned a lot here and thank all of you for the input.

I wanted the Striker, then I changed my mind, then I wanted it again, now it is not available anywhere. Newegg said 12/25, came ...went...still out od stock....Frustrating.

I am relocating to Korea from LA in a few days and want to have my new PC ready before the packers come.......so I am getting the eVGA, just ordered it !!

I just hope that the new bios they released fixed the RAID issue, I think so, but now I hear it doesn't overclock the FSB with the Kentsfield Quad Core.

Well I am gonna have to work through this.

My new system:
Lian Li P2000 full tower case
Topower Top 1000W PSU (SLI certified)
2 Gigs of OCZ FLEX DDR2 1150 RAM (that's going to be interesting)
1 eVGA 8800GTX....I think that's enough, maybe SLI later.
2 74g Raptors for a RAID 0 (OS & programs)
4 250g SATA II Seagates (perpendicular) - data and stuff
2 Plextor DVD-/+ R.....
1 Front Bay SATA HD rack (to swap backup drives in and out)
1 Matrix Orbital LCD
1 LinkSYS 54G/N wireless PCI card
various LED's spots and UV tubes for some light effects.
1 Zalman CP 9500LED cooler.

I think this is going to be fun when I get it up and running. Not planning to OC right away. Want to make it work first. With the top notch RAM and GPU plus the Kentfield and the 680i board this system should have plenty of punch out of the box.....IT BETTER HAS .....it cost me an arm and a leg, if my wife finds out she'll divorce me.

:lol: Marriage is a choice not a must. You can stay single forever if you want to. Marriage is not that bad really we just like to make jokes of it.
