Over the past week, my friend's pc has been having the same problem multiple times a day where the screen will freeze and then all usb ports will disconnect, and he found the only way to fix it was to turn the power supply off and on again. Today, it happened again and he thought it might be the GPU and so while it was on, he poked the gpu with his finger and it happened again. Then, he tried to turn it on and it turned on fine, and then he unplugged everything and took out the gpu and put it back in and while doing so he dropped the screwdriver a few inches and it fell, and the metal part of the screwdriver hit the motherboard inbetween the gpu and motherboard. This was all while it was unplugged. Now, the pc will not turn on at all. Any help?

No signs of power at all: fans, LED's ?

No power strips or surge protectors - correct?

How old is the PSU? History of heavy use for gaming, video editing, bit-mining?

Power down, unplug, open the case.

Carefully clean out dust and debris. Look for any little bits of metal or plastic - maybe even a small component that got knocked loose.

While doing so use a bright flashlight to inspect for any signs of damage. Especially around where the screwdriver hit the motherboard.

Verify by sight and feel that all connectors, cards, RAM, jumpers, and case connections are fully and firmly in place.

Hopefully just something loose and not damage.
