[SOLVED] PNY CS900 SSD 1TB ONLY SHOWING 223GB?

Hello.. New here!! Lovely community. I just bought a PNY SSD 1TB and its only showing 223GB of usable space.. I have went to disk management and tried to look for unallocated space and its just not there... Did I miss anything? Ive searched all over the net looking for the answered and have tried a few things.. Please help!

Bought from where?
Have you done anything except just connect it?
Please show us a screencap of the Disk Management window.

I just connected it and tried to find the unallocated space.. its not there.

first thing i would do is convert it to NTFS instead of exFAT. that might be causing windows to mess up the data size.

may not fix it but its where i would start

I just tried that.. same amount of space.. I wouldnt mind if it was just like 8 gbs.. but we are talking like 700gbs

where did you buy this ssd? that's about the right size for a 250 gb drive so from a sketchy source it could be f a fake.

Install and run CrystalDiskInfo.

That will (hopefully) report the actual model number.

I got it from Walmart (unfortunately) and it was discounted down to $50 bucks. Maybe some body did the old switch a roo returned the old one they had?

folks buy from some real sketchy online chops where the fakes can happen. but i'd expect a new drive from walmart to be trustworthy.

Well like I said it was on clearance.. not sure why. I am getting ready to try Crystal disk now I will screenshot. Thanks

Take it back to Walmart and get a refund or exchange.

It IS a 240GB drive, mislabeled as 1TB.

Yep, my thought.

Someone put the innards of a 240GB into a 1TB case, and returned it.
Walmart put it on the shelf.
