Excuse my ignorance but what is the difference between a 3.0Ghz Pentium
Celeron and a 3.0Ghz Pentium 4?

A Celeron is essentially a Pentium that didn't quite make the grade.. are
they ok?.. yes.. are they value for money?.. yes.. will you be happy with
one?.. yes .. until you use a system that is fitted with the Pentium.. but,
as with all things, one gets what one pays for.. :)
