I have been having problems with my computer where my screen would go black and all fans would kick to a 100%. I could still hear my friends over discord but i could not make any inputs. This was usually fist accompanied by a clicking noise coming from my what i at first i though was my GPU, but after listening carefully im certain it was coming from the PSU. This use to be the timeline : i got into GTA online and would play for around 30 minutes until i started hearing the clicking noise coming from my computer and shortly after my screen would go black and cpu and chassis fans would spin to 100% until i hold down the power button. Now things got worse, i though i fixed the problem with underwolting and overall restricting the power taken in by the GPU but the problem got back when i tried playing tarkov. After that it was coming back with a vengeance it would "crash" even on desktop. I tried opening the launcher boom crash, trying to boot to windows boom crash. It seems more random now, where before it was tied to GPU usage.

Important things to know:
i reinstalled drivers multiple times, nothing is overhearting(not even the PSU), Reinstalled windows 10 the problem persisted and then i installed windows 11 and the problem is still here, the power supply is of unknown brand and unknown rating(i know its bad but i had no other choice at the time), i undervolted and underclocked the GPU but it did not seem to help longterm.

PC specs:

ryzen 5 5500
rtx 2080 ultra xc
16gb 2666mhz
b450m gaming x
600w raidmax ig2650 sixtus

Im going to be buying a new PSU this december (as soon as i get some money)
im looking forward to your suggestions

You clearly have enough money, to afford RTX 2080, but why on earth did you buy the crap Raidmax PSU? Not enough money left over when you bought the GPU?

Your time bomb of a PSU most likely won't last that long. Worst what can happen, is PSU blowing up and frying everything it is connected to, aka your whole PC. On the flip side, you then have reasons to buy completely new PC, since current one is dead. Killed by a PSU that you cheaped out on.

Smart thing to do would be shutting down the PC and not powering it on, until new, good quality PSU is in it. E.g Seasonic PRIME or Corsair HX/HXi/AX/AXi series, in 700W range.

The PSU is old, since i had a i3 and rx 460. Had to buy it because of my old one dying on me while i needed the computer. All i had was 35$ so i had to make the choice. That was 3 years ago, Now im 17, this summer i got a summer job and was able to upgrade my Gpu cpu mobo and pc case , The only things i got left from my old pc were the hard drives and PSU.

These are PSU i am concidering: (PSU are overpriced in Serbia so my selection is limited aka nothing that is from a foreign market is unavailable such as Amazon, New Egg or even Alibaba or anything that requires shipping)

My budget is again stretched thin because of a recent purchase of Cpu

You clearly have money to buy good hardware, so make it happen that you also buy good PSU. E.g Seasonic Focus GX-650,
link: https://www.eponuda.com/kompjuteri-napajanja-cene/seasonic-focus-gx-650-650w-napajanje-cena-523911

This would be minimum i'd get. Though, based on your hardware, i'd go with Seasonic PRIME instead.
E.g: https://www.eponuda.com/kompjuteri-...rime-titanium-850w-prime-tx-850-cena-10984208

Seasonic GX-650 isn't overpriced. It actually goes with almost the same price on amazon.com,
link: https://www.amazon.com/Seasonic-GX-650-Full-Modular-Application-SSR-650FX/dp/B077J9QTDR/

Yet, you can easily afford $700 USD / 80.000 Dinar RTX 2080. :heink: (Your GPU most likely costed far more than the MSRP i used.)
I have 0 compassion towards anyone who can afford high-end GPU but then complain not to be able to buy $140 USD / 16.000 Dinar PSU. :non:

If push comes to shove, sell your RTX 2080, buy good quality PSU and what money you have left over, buy weaker GPU, e.g RTX 3060/GTX 1660.

Sure, waste your money on any of those low quality units and be in the same spot next year. Or maybe when any of those low quality units finally fries your fancy GPU, you come to your senses and buy proper, good quality PSU.

Will take into consideration

Yeah, unfortunately, you upgraded in precisely the wrong order. You buy the PSU first as the foundation for upgrades, you don't buy the fun part first and only later buy the parts to safely run the fun parts. Do you still own the RX 460? Because that's what should be in your system right now, not an RTX 2080.

9000 rsd. But who knows, maybe i will save up more money until about 20th December

Think this Cooler Master is already alot better than your current psu,
Looking in the price range of your links might this be your best choice,

https://www.eponuda.com/kompjuteri-...650w-mpe-6501-acabw-beu-napajanje-cena-574814

the 750watt version is just abit more expensive,

https://www.eponuda.com/kompjuteri-...onze-mpe-7501-acabw-beu-napajanje-cena-574789

Love the comments above, but you have what you have, hardware and budget. I'd say go for this 750watt. Since having problems just leave the pc alone untill you can get this psu.

I just started thinking, could this be a result of something else going bad in the PC? I mean this only began happening when i added the Ryzen 5 5500. i dont remember having problems like this while still using the i3. Could the CPU be the culprit , im going to save the bios update for last (after i buy a new psu) i dont want my computer to turn off while updating it.

Terrible PSU can, and most likely, will, damage all the components it is connected to. So, the longer you use your Raidmax - the higher the chance something else will die completely.

When you can boot to OS, CPU and MoBo are fine.

Good news, after opening my computer up, taking out the PSU for a clean, unplugged and plugged back in all the connectors and unplugging my hard drive (100% free space) the computer has withheld from shutting down. There is coil whine when im in game though, this will not change my intention to buy a new one as soon as possible.
