Hello good people. I'd really appreciate your assistance with my issue.

The story: I built a new PC (all parts brand new), it was running fine for a few hours, and then shut down unexpectedly and wouldn't start any more. Upon pressing the power button it would either not react at all or turn on for half a second (the lights on the CPU aio would also turn on) and then shut down immediately with a click. After some troubleshooting steps I took out the PSU to test it separately (it came with a little psu tester for shortening the pins to spin up the fan). I tried plugging it alone into a socket, and also connected it to my old system. In both cases the result was the same - the PSU (its fan) turned on for half a second and right after that shut down with a click. The old system works fine with its old PSU plugged into the same socket.

Is it possible there is a short somewhere inside the PSU? How come it worked fine for several hours?
