optical out from my Auzentech sound card to my Denon receiver to B&W 5.1 speakers. Had the setup for four years of college now and love it. The police know me by name at UNH because of the noise coming from my house.

Altec Lansing 2.1 VS4121 with Creative SB x-fi music, but I mostly use my headphones which are Steelseries 5v2.

But I live in an appartment, so headphones are better suited.

I use Klipsch 2.1 THX speakers in my room, Samsung 5.1 home theater speakers in the living room, and Sennheiser HD555 headphones for certain types of games as well as movies.

I run my PC and my 360 with HDMI to my 32" Vizio 1080P LCD, and run both digital sound to my Onkyo HT-R560 1200W 7.1 Sound. Blu-Rays look and sound So Good. And Im running onboard sound till Creative can get OpenAL working right with X-Fi.

I use an old and awesome Altec Lansing system. 2 way front speakers (tweeters and midrange). 1 way surround speakers(midrange only). Built in dolby digital 5.1 decoding.
...and the Best Part!!!
An 8" boxed down firing sub woofer. My sub is so bad*ss I have to turn it down for normal listening. But if I wanted I could make the neighbors call the police. LOL!

Oh my goodness. I bought my 5.1 Creative Labs speaker setup in probably.... 2001? LOL!!

I'm due for an upgrade. But, since my hearing isn't 100% anymore, and I usually player after my 2yo goes to bed, I can't enjoy it very loud anyhow. So there's no point in upgrading. :)

A pair of Definitive Audio 2-way monitors, a Polk subwoofer driven by a Yamaha receiver fed by an X-Fi EP. Headphones? Sennheiser 595 & Grado 395i driven by a Beyond Cute headphone amp fed by a Spitfire DAC fed by the X-Fi's digital output.

Music is one of the most important things in life.

Logitech Z-5500 THX. I used to have their first set of THX speakers and had to replace them when a lightening strike fried the sub. I like'em, but not too many video's audio supports surround sound. They do work great for movies and games.

Zack still uses the same old wimpy 2.0 speakers that came with his gateway back in 2001. Everything else, other than the keyboard, has been replaced and upgraded multiple times

Logitech Z-5300e's. I used to have an X-Fi Fatal1ty, but it sketched out on me, so I'm stuck with onboard for now. I'm planning on picking up an Asus Xonar at some point.

I use 2 different sets - I have a set of Klipsch ProMedia 2.1, but the ones I use more often are my B&W 685's hooked to a Denon AVR 2808 amplifier with an SVS 16-46 PC Plus subwoofer. It's hooked to my computer with an optical, and sounds stunning. At some point, I'll add some surrounds, but for now, it sounds great as a 2.1 setup.

[citation][nom]JaredAudiophileGamer[/nom]Logitech < Bose Companion , I Hate to offend anyone, but they sound like absolute garbage to me =\ Iv'e had g51s z5500s and z5300s all crap for music[/citation]
Hate to offend you, but although logitech speakers sound like garbage in many ways, at least they're cheap. Bose are expensive and still sound like garbage, making them a step down from Logitech IMHO. Listen to some real speakers, and see if you still like your bose then.

(B&W & SVS FTW :D )

I use two pairs of speakers!
I have a pair of Boston Acoustics BA790's and a pair of BA735's. I took a Y-splitter to the digital output, connected em both! I know it's not REAL surround sound, but hey! Two pair are better than one ;)

I use a Sony shelf system too when I'm listening to music, I bought it back in 98, I think it's model is GRX-9000, now it's 11 years old I can't believe it, but the sound is still awesome, quite a punch.
Specs (not 100% sure):
2.0 stereo sound
3000 Watts P.M.P.O
340 Watts RMS
Twin 8" Woofers per channel

But for gaming I use a wireless headset.

[citation][nom]gamerk316[/nom]5.1 headsets; currently the Razer Barracuda HP-1.[/citation]

I had a pair of them but I can't say I was impressed, bass was non existent, the microphone kept falling out, they become uncomfortable and hot after a while and eventually one of the speakers failed. All in all they were piece of crap.

I'm back to using Logitech 2.1 speakers with subwoofer.
