Been seeing this issue posted around the internet since <2015 with no fixes.
Unable to tab out of any game, then re-enter. It gives a black screen, then a flash of what the game is, then throws you back out to your desktop.
Have the same settings I used to use on my old system: Perform scaling on GPU, scaling mode set to Fullscreen, over-ride scaling mode set by games and programs enabled.
I have changed these settings around all with no different effect and the same issue persisting.
Even asked Steam support for assistance and more or less got the answer of: "Sorry, we can't help due to your unique hardware."
Very much seems since I upgraded to this newer GPU from a GTX 1060, it cannot handle 4:3 aspect ratios.
Operating with an RTX 3080, Ryzen 7, 24gb RAM.
Many thanks for any suggestions. 👍🏻

Had it working as intended for a whole day yesterday for the first time, after installing a Windows 10 update. Today it's back to not functioning again. Fantastic.
