Below i have some parts listed for a new build im wanting to make. Iv been running a 965 black edition for 10 years and want to know if these parts will be sufficient and future proof. If theres any faster memory at similar price or what you would change with the below parts

G-Skill-Memory-3600-K2-16-F4-3600C18D-16GTZRX

Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE AMD Motherboard

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6GHz 6 Core (Socket AM4) CPU

MSI GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER GAMING X 6GB

Corsair RM850 850W Modular 80+ Gold PSU

Again i wont be doing heavy game or any editing.
The games most likely played would be black ops, modern warfare, minecraft and other than that i would want to use the pc to watch 4k movies.

The build will fit into either a NZXT H500 or Corsair 570x, i just want to get the main parts out the way cpu, memory, graphics card and mobo to last me and maybe future upgrade on cpu

Any thoughts ?

Solution
Think by looking what you do with the pc you still might be better of with the Ryzen 3600,in games faster than the 2700.

Just as a suggestion,

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor (£174.98 @ CCL Computers)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition 42 CFM CPU Cooler (£36.04 @ CCL Computers)
Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard (£106.16 @ CCL Computers)
Memory: Patriot Viper Steel 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (£78.27 @ CCL Computers)
Storage: Kingston A2000 250 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (£37.91 @ CCL Computers)
Storage: Samsung 860 QVO 1 TB 2.5" Solid State...
Are you using your old storage drives or plan to get a new one? I'd recommend getting an SSD to install and boot windows off of. 500GB should do, either M.2 or SATA 2.5" models are plenty fast.

Also, unless you plan to upgrade your graphics card soon with a 2080Ti or a new 3080Ti in 2020, you will NOT need an 850 Watt PSU. At the least you need 450 Watts. So 500-550 Watt is the recommended amount.

Everything else is fine.

Just saw a review about this one and seems to be good quality based on the Seasonic Focus plus,

review,

if you'd rather go for the Corsair is that nevertheless an excellent psu.

leaves some money for a better cpu cooler if you wanted to use the stock one.

Again, why are you getting an 850W PSU? For a ~150W GPU? Massive overkill and a waste of money. Your getting all this to play some light games and HTPC work? Drop down to the 2600, 3200MHz ram, a good 550W PSU, and keep the GPU. That's what I would do.

The COD Modern Warfare is a pretty hefty game so don't see why you wouldn't want best within your budget. Some options given are just to save you money,it's up to you to decide what you want in the end.;)

Think the money saved by the Riotoro psu is worth it,but you in the end need make the choice. Just like the motherboard suggested by sizzling above.

Migth be best to get latest chipset if already eyeballing Ryzen 4xxx for future upgrade.

Okay you guys are the brains to all this lol, so quote me a system based under £1500 on ryzen platform. For light to moderate gaming, COD, minecraft, and everyday multitasking, i am a photographer so use things like photoshop to export raw files and editing etc

The reason i have selected the parts is for future proof and for future upgrades

You would have to be upgrading to an SLI or CF setup. 850W is a LOT. It's just the wrong size PSU for this job.

At the price the Riotoro is explain why that is a waste of money?

That is a great price for a large PSU. But as I just mentioned it's the wrong size part. Looking on cclonline I see several purepower 11 and other Seasonic PSUs that are still 80+ gold and selling in the £65-70 range. It's not a deal breaker getting that 850W unit, but it's not needed either.

i am a photographer so use things like photoshop to export raw files and editing etc

Are you sure you wouldn't like an 8C/16T CPU? Something to help with the photo editing work? The extra cores of the 2700 or 2700X would help do that kind of work I would think. And at least here in the states they are cheaper than their 3xxx cousins. If your software can use the GPU you might want to go bigger there.

Well within your budget and reasonably balanced...

With psu's like that (think good quality) and seeing how efficient they already are at low loads does it not matter that it is 850watts. It might and probably will be even quieter than psu's smaller since less high load and with that less heat.

Cheers for that. How long do you think this system would last me & is this sufficient for photography photo editing, moderate gaming and watch movies in 4k?
That is a pretty powerful configuration by modern standards. All parts included are top quality and should last you 3-4yrs easily without upgrade. And all the workload you have mentioned should be piece of cake. Ryzen does not have too much overclocking headroom, so I would stick to the stock clocks for now and for that the stock cooler is more than sufficient.
You can add some more storage down the line, but for starters, the SSD included is top quality and pretty sufficient. Make a 100gb odd partition for your Windows and use the rest for your daily task.

Went from £ 1500,- to alot lower budget, which is fine, your choice ;),but why skimp a few pounds to get that B3 psu which Aris here had problems with when reviewing them. Just spend a little more and get that Riotoro Enigma.

or if all the talk about it has put you off get this one,
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product...d-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020132-na
which at your shop of choice (why specifically that shop?) is alot more i see now.
See that the TXM 750watt is as expensive there,
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product...d-semi-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020131-na

Price of ram is ridiculous btw ....

Other thing,if wanting to pay less for a cpu,do look at the Ryzen 2700 for just 20 pounds more at your shop of choice. I know say less and offer to pay more, but you get also more cores and theoretically a higher boost clock.
Other option if looking to really spend not alot as i've been reading/watching abit is the newer Ryzen 1600,
AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6 Core (Socket AM4) CPU - YD1600BBAEBOX | CCL Computers
make sure you get the "

Alternative Part NumberYD1600BBAFBOX
and not the one that say "E" there.
A video,
New AMD Ryzen 5 1600 AF CPU Review & Benchmarks vs. Original, R5 2600, & 3600 - YouTube

Personal touch, think that the Ryzen 3600 wil go a long way and for a decent amount of time,so might want to consider that one since really the faster one, unless using the cpu you choose now to just get the system running comfortably and eyeballing the Ryzen 4xxx series for the future.

might well have overdone it with storage, thought small ssd for windows and bigger one for games, the hdd for the rest. If you need that much space.

Case take what you like. For psu one of the ones i mentioned or the last one you chose.

If you want aio watercooling either the one you chose or this will do fine,
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product...6-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-fd-wcu-celsius-s24-bk
too bad they don't have the "ARCTIC LIQUID FREEZER II" 240/360mm. Those are good price performance.

For the gpu will this handle things fine at 1080p and at lower settings 1440p,might want to think about the RX 5700XT if you want it to last longer. Not as quiet as the one in your first post this gtx 1660 super i chose.

What's the difference in price between the 3600 and 2700? It's 400MHz and 2C/4T. Personally I'd take the extra cores and clock it to 3.6GHz. You can always overclock. You can't magically add cores.

Otherwise I don't see anything horribly wrong with either build. I'm not sure I would bother with small 250GB SSDs. Or partitions on bigger drives. I have a 1TB SSD in my PC and I just formatted it all as one. There is no benefit to partitions with an SSD other than you can "format C" without losing any data. But any data should be backed up and on spinning drives. Look around. You might find a better large SSD which you can use just fine.
