Question Should I upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 8/8.1

Windows 7 support will end soon so I've been thinking to switch to another os
I tried Windows 10 but It lags and my laptop doesn't have any drivers for it
I'm thinking of Installing Windows 8/8.1

It has a driver for Windows 8 ( Upgraded from Windows 7 )
I don't know if the driver will work on 8.1

Look at the OS drop-down list again, it clearly shows drivers for Windows 8.1 as well as Windows 8.

Yes I know that
At first I thought Since I'm upgrading from Windows 7 , I might as well use the Windows 8(Upgraded From Windows 7) Drivers
but then I realized that doesn't matter

I'm going to upgrade now and see if I have any performance issues
