windows 10 cant restart(stuck on asus logo screen)
I have a rog strix g18 laptop and currently can't restart the computer. Whether I do a windows update and need to restart, or manually try to restart the pc normally it attempts to restart, loads into the asus logo screen before booting into windows but without the loading ring dots , but gets stuck on this screen for however long I let it sit there(i let it sit overnight and it was still present in the morning). I haven't touched any services or system functions that I think would lead to this sort of issue as it's never happened in the 2 years i've had it. I'm on windows 22h2 and up to date on any windows updates. I already had fast startup disabled which someone recommended, i've done a cmos reset, ran through all services to see if i might've disabled something that's needed for windows to boot properly, i've ran through sfc scannow and dism commands and everything came back fine, i reset bios to its defaults and no luck. I've had everything on this laptop fine tuned and optimized to where I like it for some time now and as I said before I never have encountered this issue so i'm not sure what it's stemming from. Im on the latest bios which was updated relatively recently and all of my drivers etc are up to date. I stay on top of maintaining everything on this pc. Lastly after trying everything I could find online I restored my pc back to the most recent restore point on feb 28th which was when everything was working properly and somehow the restart function is still not working. I am unsure what I did between then and now that could've bricked the restart functionality especially after now doing a system restore and seeing that the issue still is present. I'm trying to stray away from doing a fresh windows install as this is a smaller type of issue that I don't think is worth fresh installing windows for and resetting everything i've fine tuned and setup over the months and going back to square one. But it is very inconvenient to not have the restart functionality work properly and having to manually force shutdown my laptop every time id like to restart. To add if there is any process that requires something like an update and needs to be restarted afterwards it won't restart. Anything related to the restart function just does not work any longer. I'm on a 2tb 980pro samsung ssd. It's my default boot drive in bios, and up to date on the latest firmware. I have ran through the bios settings on enabled and disabled to see if one or the other would affect anything and nothing changed. No services in windows whethee enabled or disabled had any effect. The only thing I did on the pc recently after not using for a few weeks was manually update windows and there was just one smaller cumulative update and i want to say the restart function was still working after it. So I'm at a loss of what to do and if anyone has any potential solutions to this niche problem i'm having i'm all ears as it seems i'm all out of options hence why i've started to post my issue on forums etc which I almost never do. again any feedback is appreciated.
