Neither did I, I've been trying to mod that case panel for a long time coming but I can't figure out the lines to go with that stupid venting on the case that's at an angle. I have the advanced package which came with the unsightly shaped side window with a 200mm fan on it that was annoying and then was the silly angular venting. Also has a proprietary latch on the window panel

* when I'm done with the vintage case mod , I'll try coming up with something on it
** I cut out the lower end of the case - can't be long until I hack it in anger 😛

hey i know your probably going to laugh, i already bought it and can cancel it within ten days so i would appreciate you honest opinion .... do you think that i can OC solid with this PC

and/or trade in the case and get upgraded GPU to 670 (or AMD if you think)

thanks for your support!! any opinions on the build would be great!! HOW ARE the cooling systems. will they support OC at solid consumption?? plz answer

well the idea was to get them both under water, however I bought the second 5870 second hand with the accelero on it and I found out later that it is not removable once installed 🙁

I have rewired that fan to go behind the motherboard. ( using an extension) I actually have 14 fans in this rig . 8 on the top rad, 2 on the bottom rad, rear, drive cage, and i have one sitting on the floor facing the MSI lightning, and one sitting on the top 5870 blowing at the NB. ( keeps NB around 40C idle)

my gpu idle temps are 22C ide and 40C load. cpu idles around 32C idle 2.52ghz ( and 62C after hours of gaming. 4.41ghz ( fans almost never hit full speed ( they run 50% most of the time )

my goal at this point is to sell board, cpu, and both gpus along with ram and use the cash for a new setup. looking at haswell and 8xxx ( and I need 32GB of ram ( I run out of ram with 12GB )

Thank you very much 😀 the extra 2 fans are just for NB and to increase airflow to the bottom gpu it sits 2mm above the divider so it has trouble breathing i'm sure 😛. also looking at blood red tubing instead of this uv red ( never reacted as expected under uv 🙁 ) then add red leds for lighting. the cougars on my rad looks sexy 😀

Thanks alot! I have had several ppl see my rig and ask me to build one for them. made some nice money 😉 always a conversation piece ( but no way i'm lugging it to lan parties at 100 lbs :/ ) building a SFF for lans

i like it all being internal as one unit. gotcha lol i missed the sarcasm my bad lol not looking forward to draining. as this was my first liquid setup, i did not use qdc or a drain cap 🙁 though i have to say 3 years and only distilled water and kill coil and i have no nasties 😀

Hello all,
I finally got my old tower out of the attic, and added some water cooling to it. It's a Q6600 2.4Ghz Quad core overclocked at 3.4Ghz. Idle is 34 celsius, load is 47 celsius.
I added the ThermalTake Water2.0Performer, dual pwm 120mm fans (push/pull setup) and temps are awesome now. Pushing for 3.6Ghz, as this board (P5K) as it posts and boots windows at 3.6Ghz, I just don't know the temps yet on water for that speed. Will update post once I have it all sorted out.
Here are some pics..

I know I know...Red LED Ram with Blue case fans...Working on it. 😀

3.4Ghz

3.6Ghz and stable/cool

@ Hard line - the pink tubing is distracting but I'm sure you knew that beforehand :) nice build though mate. And don't be imtimidated with modo's radbox work - those three military toggle switches are for levitating the unit while the unit is powered down - thus bringing it to eye level and an easy drain/filling procedure. Comes complete with a kinect sensor so it tilts/moves to modo's nose pitch

...

@ Sky - ah another C2Q owner, there's something about an old chip running flawlessly at those specs eyh? 😀

**Comes complete with a kinect sensor so it tilts/moves to modo's nose pitch**
The kinect sensor doubles as an automatic power on sensor for when I get home and security alarm for when we're out :)
It is not currently used to tilt the rig as I haven't got enough servo's to accommodate full range through all axis
Working on it though...
😛
