i know for the first gen socket 1366 you could bump the multiplier by 1 giving you an even number, but I know for my 950 at high OC's it was very unstable and i always kept it at an odd number.

My 950 would do a 23x 213 giving me 4.9ghz but i could also drop down to a 21x 222 for 4.6Ghz which would give me better ram speed and timings then the 23 multiplier. Those were the day when i had way to much free time, had an excel sheet for multiplier * bclk @ voltage and gave me ram speed with timings. Went through 19, 21, 23 from 133 bclk till it would max out on each one.

An excel sheet, well i was doing on paper "Mav Bring ze papers!" (bad joke...).
Still i have to buy every socket motherboard (not older than 775 and not never than 1151) and test overclocks as i have a lot of spare time across summer (haha), and have collection of best motherboards per socket, cause on my local website sellers actually put them soo cheap that X48 Formula (775) is actually 30$... and workstation WS 775 same 30$.
I was planning custom loop with cheap watercooling block which JayZ reviewed, and also plexiglass wall mounted PC with custom loop, but thats only dream 🙁

Haha i have weirdest motherboard you're gonna ever heard/see, Asrock 775Dual-vsta. If you mod bios, all cpu support, you couldn't actually boot pc neither start it, no signal, but if you connect the PSU power to ground for a second then start pc from switch it would actually boot normally and work. Hahahahaha

Who says you can't overclock on an Optiplex?

The higher you go the more likely it is to freeze. ThrottleStop can change voltage live without a re-POST.

These Optiplexes have terrible power management.

the tape mod does not work, all it does is underclock it to 1.6Ghz (1066mhz to 800MHz FSB). I need to get some specialty stuff.

I'd need to use a soldering iron for that or some special conductive paint.

I've tried 333 via SetFSB, the motherboard hates it and shuts off.

Doing some of the tape mods can also fail to complete POST.

Oh hell yeah. Raised my northbridge/AVX2 frequency to 4.5Ghz, and upped my RAM to 2400MHz CL9. Not a huge improvement but I surpassed a 5GHz 7700K...Hahahahahaha.

Table will be updated shortly.

It's a good score! Don't bag on me yet, you knew I had running background processes. I'll run full bench this weekend with optimal conditions. I should run one again for my I5 4670k Haswell. That thing is running overclocked at 4.5ghz 24/7 with a 212 EVO. lol... It runs phenomenal.

Passmark has the 5 latest submitted scores for each CPU. I beat all 5 for the i7 7700K and murdered all 5 of the recent 4790K scores.

During the bench I got to about 80C at the highest, but playing Skyrim at 3K only sees 40c. Good job, GTX 1070.

My cheapo water cooling kit seems to do a good job keeping this beast tame, even with 2000RPM fans set to 1600...if I had 2 more cores I could murder some 8700Ks...

Looking at the scores, the only thing your CPU did better than mine was integer math.

Hey, what's your voltage?

On the Haswell? I'll have to turn it on and check. It's been set for over a year.

Up the DRAM frequency and you'll have a better score. Mine was run at 1700-ish MHz.

Was that a single E5-1680? Ran the test on our server at work with 2 E5-2620V4, pulled 15k with 10 VM's running and the CPU % was only at 60% usage. Might try a run this weekend when i can shut everything down and just have the server running.

Not sure.

Yes.

Very close scores now that I've had time to analyze and update the table. I managed to pull 7300 at one point but the machine BSOD'd before I could screenshot it.

Hmm, i found an deal for 30$ for an DFI BLOODIRON P35 socket 775 What do you think about that, as for reviews 550FSB should i go for that 😀?
