MoBo: MSI X299 Tomahawk AC
CPU: Inter i7-7800X
RAM: 16GB (2x8GB DDR4-3200 Trident Gskill)
GPU: Geforce GTX 1060 3GB
Storage: SSD 500 Gb for software | SSD nvm 1tb for footage, cache and project files

Not gamming, just video editing.

Bottlenecked by RAM, CPU and GPU as CPUID HWMonitor shows. It's slowed down by lack of another hdd/ssd where redistribute caché and project files but don't think it's the main problem.

May a RAM improve enhance the rendering/working process? In that case, is it better to get another 2 RAMS as the ones I have? With this CPU and Mobo I can only use 4 of the 8 RAM slots, may I consider buying 2x16gb ? Whould it be any compatibility issue?

May a GPU upgrade works better than the RAM's one?

Reccomendations would be really apreciated

Thanks!!!

This is what I would recommend going with if you are looking for a big boost in performance. You could really use 64GB of RAM probably.

What resolution do you work with and do you use many GPU accelerated features?
I would definitely go for 32GB of RAM regardless as it is the recommended minimum for 1080p. If using a higher resolution it’s recommended to have 64GB. Typically 2 RAM slots give you the best compatibility over occupying all 4 however, I would check your motherboards QVL if you plan to occupy 4. 6GB of VRAM will help if you use a bunch of GPU accelerated features.

I usually work 1080 but eventually I'm receiving more 4k footage. I also use many gpu accelerated plugins (redgiant). I'll find out about QVL. Do you recommend me getting rid of the old rams and upgrade them? A cheap GPU with more Vram would beahabe better? Any recommendation about those?

Thank you very much, really appreciate it

Really appreciate it but I can't just build it from scratch. What if keeping the Motherboard and CPU at least? I bought the Mobo in order to upgrade (in a future) to a better intel CPU.
Do you recommend me getting rid of the old rams and upgrade them? A cheap GPU with more Vram would behabe better? Any recommendation about those acording to mymotherboard and CPU?

Thanks!
