I'm trying to install Windows 7 Professional using my USB right now but whenever I start the installation I get an error saying CD/DVD Driver missing or something along those lines. People have said to use USB 2.0 but I'm not sure I have that. People said to install some USB drivers or something but I'm not sure how to do that either. I need help resolving this issue. If anyone needs my specs I can post that as well. Thanks.

I booted from my USB, I get this error because Window 7 doesn't come with the USB 3.0 drivers. I need to know how I can correctly install these drivers.

I have heard of this problem before. Not sure if it will work in your case but see what happens when you put the USB stick into a USB 2.0 slot. Won't hurt. Give it a spin. Check your bios to see if there are any USB options which might assist you in this problem also.

I'm pretty sure I don't have any USB 2.0 slots, I have an ASUS z270e gaming motherboard. Do I have any USB 2.0 slots? At this point, I'm not sure what to do. If I don't have any USB 2.0 slots I'm going to need the proper drivers so I can get my USB 3.0 slots working and continue with the installation.

All current motherboards have USB 3.0 and legacy USB 2.0 connectors. Look for the legacy connectors on the back of the case where the I/o shield and Peripheral connectors are located.

Look on the back..... they should be labeled. The USB 3.0 connectors might appear blue in color. The legacy 2.0 should be black. There should be labeling on your I/o shield.

This is the motherboard I have

From what I'm looking at, I only see blue ones.

Can you look at the link I sent you? That's all I see as of now on the I/O shield.

Yes, both are blue and are labeled USB 3.0.

I have no clue why it shows two keyboards unless the USB stick is being recognized as one since the proper drivers for it is not available. Yes,by the way, your Legacy mode is enabled as you showed in the image.

Alright, so it's not working even though it's enabled. I need someone who can help me get the USB 3.0 drivers working so I can just use those to install Windows 7 since Windows 7 doesn't come with them.

Thanks though

Hi

from motherboard USB specs
Intel® Z270 Chipset :
6 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 port(s) (4 at back panel, blue, 2 at mid-board)
Intel® Z270 Chipset :
6 x USB 2.0 port(s)
ASMedia® USB 3.1 controller : *7
1 x USB 3.1 front panel connector port(s)
ASMedia® USB 3.1 controller :
2 x USB 3.1 Gen 2 port(s) (Type-A + USB Type-CTM, Support 3A power output)

maybe none of the USB 2 ports come to the front of your case.
If there are none on the back panel then you may need a 'usb 2 back plate to motherboard bridge cable'

There are procedures to add the USB 3.0 driver to Win 7 but for latest motherboard chipsets & intel 7th generation CPU you are best off with Windows 10 as Microsoft & Intel does not want you to use Windows 7 and blocks updates

(8) Windows® 8.1 64-bit and Windows® 7 32/64-bit are only supported when using 6th Generation Intel® Processors

I don't want to use Windows 10, it's complete trash. So you can't help me get the USB 3.0 drivers? I'm not too worried about the updates thing as of now, I just want to use Windows 7 Professional.

Going to bed now, but check out the utilities section for your motherboard. They have an ez install utility for windows 7 installation with USB 3.0 drivers for the motherboard included. There you go. Time for some shut eye. Peace out.

Go to the utilities tab. Open and expand it. It tells you in detail the purpose of this particular utility I am speaking ofIt uses the exact phrasing......ez install utility for installation of Windows 7 USB drivers 3.0 for motherboard. Read whatever release notes which come with it. You would load the utility on a USB . Follow any extraction directions.
