I just upgraded from a Ryzen 5 1600 to a Ryzen 7 3800X. I've updated the BIOS and chipset drivers to the current ones which are compatible with 3rd series Ryzen CPUs.
When booting with the old CPU with this BIOS it's fine. However, after inserting the new CPU, it gets stuck in the motherboard loading screen (where it says gigabyte). Then upon restarting, the PC WILL run in safe mode.
So with:
Old CPU - Works normally
New CPU - Works only in safe mode. Normal mode is constantly on motherboard loading screen
I have tested it a couple of times, switching out each of the processors, same result.
Yes, the motherboard is compatible with the CPU, I checked. It's an AB350 Gaming-3
Any suggestions of what to do?
Thank you
