It's probably not worth the effort. Time for a new machine.

And I'm going to say No. The motherboard OEM may still have a web page archived for the board that indicates which CPUs are compatible with the BIOS, and I'd be surprised it the list even includes any Core2 Extreme or Quad chips. Certainly nothing newer than that. Remember: Socket 775.
