I have the Asus VG248QE and have updated it with a g-sync board that nvidia offered a while ago. The monitor still runs at 144hz and 1ms refresh but it obviously now has g-sync capabilities. Does anyone know how this monitor will work with an AMD GPU? I am looking to go team red because I have (since getting the monitor and nvidia gpu) moved onto a linux platform. I would now like to take advantage of the open source drivers for AMD Linux has to offer. Since this monitor is a g-sync monitor will it still be able to run at 144hz with the AMD GPU? I am also assuming the AMD free-sync wont work with this monitor either I am fine with using V-Sync in my games if necessary but if free-sync could work it would be nice.

You asked.

It'll still work just fine, just means you can't use G-Sync.

FreeSync was developed by AMD and first announced in 2014 to compete against Nvidia's proprietary G-Sync.

You'll need a newer model monitor to use FreeSync.
