Going to build a new PC in a few months and I wanted to switch over to AMD. The GPU that I will be purchasing is an EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 Super, now I wasn't sure if I should go with the AMD Ryzen 7 2700x, or to pay a few hundred more to get the Ryzen 7 3700x... I'm wondering if the 2700x would bottleneck, or if getting the 3700x is worth the extra money.

at 1920x1080 i can see that something like the 2070 super can bottleneck most processors especially mid-range CPUs.

going for 3700x would also be good but not entirely necessary even the 3700x would bottleneck the 2070 super at 1080p 144hz id assume, especially e-sports titles that arent really gpu intensive.

if its 1440p 144hz then you should be fine with the 2700x + 2070 super.
