Question Building a PC with low budget??

Hi guys, I'm currently building the 1st gaming PC for my cousin but he's low on budget, I tried to do my best, here you're my suggestion:

- CPU: core i5 14400 (maybe have to consider core i5 12400F due to low budget problem)
- MB: ASUS PRIME H610M-A D4-CSM LGA 1700
- RAM: Patriot 32GB (2 x 16GB) 3200MHz DDR4 Viper Steel Kit
- GPU: ASUS Dual RTX 4060 8GB GDDR6
- PSU: Corsair SF600 Platinum Fully Modular Power Supply Black
- Case: BitFenix Nova Mesh TG Black PC Gaming Case RGB Edition
- SSD/HDD: Already has one.

Is it ok to go with it in terms of quality and decent parts?

You might want to stay away from Intel. In fact you should have better luck with an AM4 Ryzen 5000 series platform, guestimating here since we don't know where you're located.

That's a poor CPU choice it's nearly the same as a 3600 it would make more sense to go for the 5600 I know it's not ideal for a budget but it's not even close to similar performance

In terms of P-Core it should work like 4.8 on all 6 cores while Ryzen 5600 is 4.2 on all 6 cores.
If we made the comparison with core i5 12400 they are both the same performance, same price also here, but as a new build I should get the latest.

If my wife wasn't married to ryzen am4 I would have jumped ship to it for her but she loves her amd set up. soon enough we might have to take a look at what platform next but I think she might wait for am6 after we slot an r7 5800x at xmas

Love your pick of CPU I was talking about the ryzen 5500 sorry I didn't reply sooner went out for a meal with the family then I had to put my youngest to bed an that takes hours. Then I wasn't checking forms

Look at the 5700X. That cpu runs cooler.

Look at the 5700X. That cpu runs cooler.

Ill take a look she has a pretty good cooler on it the arctic cooler esport34 duo iirc. But a cooler system is a better system as long as it helps her frame rate its all good.

Depends on the budget. The 5500 with pbo is still ahead of the 3600.

Not by much its the reject of the 5000 series that couldn't even make it to 5600g and thats saying something as 5600g shouldn't really be considered a true 5000 series chip as it is

Like I said, included 5500 for the cost. Either come up with a constructive partbuild for the OP or suggest an alternative.

Its an option as I don't know the price point its hard to know how many corners need cutting I just pointed out a issue I saw in the CPU

I guess you can appreciate the tradeoffs that you had to make:

A520 mobo. weak VRMS which would throttle a 5700X3D if the OP decides to upgrade.

Tier B PSU without 16 pin power cable.

No Storage listed.

I would probably use the 5600 with the box cooler

I would not trade the 5600X for A520 mobo and no pcie 4.0 for GPU.
