I want to install better ram sticks(x8) to replace the stock ram (x16) that came in my Lenovo legion 5 pro (rtx 3060), also at the same time want some extra ram just to be future proof, i was thinking of buying 16 gb and 8gb module of G.Skill Ripjaws , only difference is the size of the modules rest everything is the same.

So will it create any problem like crashes and also will it be able to work in dual channel mode?

Ram modules :
16gb: https://www.amazon.in/dp/B08J2WGSRZ...olid=3QCC8P0XSRSW6&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

8gb: https://www.amazon.in/dp/B08HDKD8QW...colid=3QCC8P0XSRSW6&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1

The starting point is to visit Lenovo's website and look for some QVL (Qualified Vendors' List) of supported RAM modules and RAM configurations.

For example, the proposed 16GB + 8 GB RAM combination.

Check the applicable FAQs and Forums.

You can also visit the various RAM manufacturer's websites. Look for a consensus on supported RAM specs and configurations.

Details matter.

yes I did check lenovo's website but there is no info available regarding the compatible memory kits, though there is something available on crucial's website , they did mention the compatibility

Two 16GB modules would be my choice for the stated laptop max of 32 GB.

Hopefully a matched kit, but at least two of the same 16GB sticks that match the specs of the existing RAM.

Check other RAM manufacturer websites: Kingston, PNY, Samsung.

For example (not a recommendation or endorsement):

https://www.kingston.com/en/memory/search/model/103199/lenovo-legion-5-pro-16ach6

However, pay attention to "Important Consideration Notes".

I couldn't find the exact module stated on the Kingston website(part number is different) but did manage to find a similar one with exact same timings.

The Amazon product seems to have overall good ratings and reviews. And enough of them (619) to be meaningful.

Take another look at the reviews especially the lower starred ones. Just in case someone mentions Lenovo laptops and the Legion Pro 5 in particular.

Look on line for any "how to install RAM" tutorials for the Legion Pro 5. Likely a mix of good and bad but you may find something relevant one way or another.

I do wonder about the "Kingston ValueRam" phrasing. May be a bit of word play involved: are the modules Kingston or not?

Just double check the Return Policies....

Get a 2x kit.

2x8GB.
2x16GB.
Your call.

If you mix sticks it becomes a coin flip how well they will work together.
