Hello,
my name is foolish
im in the process of buying a new system
all i use it for is copying or moving terabytes of video data dvd's & bluray to other drives...
i was told not to buy because xp wont run at all
thanks
If all your doing is moving data from 1 drive to another you dont need a $1000 cpu but yes it will run xp since its an x86 processor. Your problem will be finding drivers for the motherboard and peripherals that you will be using.
Does have drivers for WinXP (Home Edition, Media Center Edition and Pro Edition (32bit and 64bit)
--> I think popatim is right about a Sandy Bridge-E being a way over the top for the kind of work you describe. And no one around here is going to be excited about running WinXP on this class of hardware.
