I am trying to boot into Linux from windows 10, and I have created a bootable usb flash drive. I can access the "boot menu" on my gigabyte mother board by pressing f12 during startup, but even though I am prompted to use the DEL key to enter the BIOS, that key won't perform that function. I am very confused because the keyboard works for f12, but it doesn't even seem to recognized when I press DEL.

Some motherboards/bios can be very picky on when the key have to be pressed, so if only pressed once, you'd probably miss the small time window. Solution is usually to tap the button repeadedly after power on, until you get into bios menu.

I was able to get into the BIOS- you were right. Thank you!
