That P4 is still destroying the world one watt at a time :kaola: . Ever heard of global warming? I think it's being caused by all the people using a P4 for projects such as folding@home 😉 .
Anyway, I couldn't stand being in a house with 6 people, too many for me. I have one brother and he was annoying enough as it is 😛 .

Good one. :lol: Once I've found a part time job here, i'll be replacing it with a more modern computer. (would of got one a year ago but some events prevented that. :non: )

Meh, were kinda the odd ball family. :/ Unlike most families where kids like to tear each other apart, we got more of a stick together attitude. It doesn't mean we dont fight but not as some often as other people i know.

Then again, were all teens (or for me, i would be classified as an adult) now, so we settled down quite a bit.


 


thanks haha, unfortunately that won't last forever, i actually built my buddy who going to my college a replacement desktop for his house back up in cleveland, but there was no really good time for me to give it too him besides move in day.....so while it's still here figured it's crank out some extra points haha, i still might be able to stay up that high, if i can ever get the 2nd 460 i want, if i can find the spare money
 
Wow its gotten into pictures now lol. Hi guys I've gone for sometime now, im sorry about that work, the gym, and my car not running right has got me all strung up. ive been trying to fold as much as possible though! 😀
 


Understandable. 😉 If fact im facing issues somewhat like yours. Although it's just one thing and it's school. For now, until every thing is settled with the brand new school (which I mean just finished building over the summer) im at (which is highly tech base) im going to be using my laptop until they've provided me with there laptop/netbook. Which will mean no folding from me for a bit. 🙁

Oh well. At im like what i see of the new school. As mentioned above it's highly tech base school. Computers, Nearly paperless classes, ect. Also like how the teachers can uses the intercoms with a microphone around that straps the neck to people can hear clearly.

Now im very curious about there projection sceen/board thing. What i see it that there a projector projecting an windows image on a screen from a laptop but the interesting part is that they have they bulky black pen thing that they touch on the screen, and the cursor is moved to that spot. 😱

What i want to know is, how does it work. Any thing that they need to click on i understand there buttons on the pen thing. Although if you drawl something, is it the screen touch sensitive and transferring the info to the computer via usb that i haven't seen or it there a camera on the pen thing that relay the matching image back then correctly placing the image should be. [:grahamlv:3]

All very stange new stuff to figure out. :lol:

Ah man have you guys seen the the microsoft surface board, just take a look on youtube about it. I'm thinking its going to create a wonderful computer/tech future for us and our kids later on! :)
 
Yep. When you got a fairly old team like this, you're going to have a lot of inactive folders. 😉

My first WU was for this team. But I think I only folded one before moving to another team because I was simply trying to see what folding@home actually was at the time. That was using the old single-core client back then. I haven't folded regularly in at least a year, probably longer. It uses too much power.
 


i stopped because of poor ATI support and am boycotting F@H until that changes
 


I don't blame you. I do believe the ati gpu clients should be better coded than they are right now. Gpu 3 should be changing all these issues by usinging OpenMM or OpenCL (forgetting which of the 2 there trying use for ATI cards at the moment). To bad though that they never give an ETA on pretty much anything :pfff:
 


i know, and when i can actually use my cards for decent gains i will be back folding for this team, hopefully the new client supports the 4870
 


Well when the new client comes around, well gladly accept you back.

As for if the 4870 is support or not, If memory severs correct, it should. I think they were providing support from HD 4xxx cards and above with the new client. Not positive though. these 2 blog post from the F@H with the last news about ati gpu 3 client

My i7 just jumped in PPD from like ~5k to ~12k, Why would a WU have such a big difference in PPD 🙁 . I know there are multipliers, but shouldn't they even it out a little bit.

Okie dokie WHEN THE HECK IS THERE GOING TO BE A BETTER ATI FOLDING CLIENT! OMG! -.- I want to make use of my 5850. After all since 5850's have the great overclocking ability to reach the performance of a 5870. Any news on the ATI GPU3 client? Or are they waiting out on the 6XXX series?

ETA = Estimated Time of Arrival. Which F@H does not give out. They say soon or it's going to be a while but never even a rough estimation of when it coming around.

As for wait there waiting on? IDK. Maybe the waiting for client v7 to come around to include it with the ATI openCL/MM. :/ It is F@H next big progect there working on as it suppose and/or possibility to include:

All the Cpu, SMP, Bigadv, and gpu clients into 1 big client to make it simple for people to run F@H without using Command prompt or just setting up multiple clients.

Simultaneous Upload and download of a WU. Just meaning if you're running a client nearly or at 24/7, it will download a WU while uploading a WU that you just finished. Nothing major for us to really worry about as none of us that im aware of is doing bigadv but if you are running bigadv, it means your computer doesn't have to wait 15, 30, 60,or 120 mins to finish uploading a bigadv WU to start on the next one

Last part that im aware of is this "ability to use the FAH client to manage multiple machines easily." Meaning you can either watch or control multiple computers from a single point.



Cant say for sure but it the best guess i have as that should be coming out soon as they've said. Although once again, No ETA. So i have no clue for either thing. :heink:


Just hope they come out soon.
 
Well after nearly 2 weeks of not being able to fold, im now back in the game. 😀 Kinda needed my laptop for other things so i didn't have the time to fold.

Thats ok though. Seams PG has some new core_11 gpu work WU's so i'll also have my dads laptop with a geforce 310M in it working to catch up where i should be.

2k PPD Here I Come!
