Hello,

I am a semi-professional gamer in my country and i had recently won a tournament prize for about $1500 (21.3 Mil Indonesian Rupiah) and i would like to upgrade my PC with the current specs:

i7 3770k
MSI Z77-G43
Patriot Viper 16GB 1600mhz RAM
HIS ICEQX2 R9 290
WDC Blue 1TB
120GB SSD(forgot which brand)

i built this PC back in 2013 and i am looking to build a new PC. If possible, i would like to only spend my tournament winnings of $1500 (Rp 21.3 million) without adding anything from my own savings, but if it is worth it, i would be able to stretch a few million (max budget would be Rp 25.000.000 or $1760 if I'm able to sell my old PC for a reasonable price)

I'm looking to build this current PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 2700X (Rp 4.810.000 / ~$339)
ASRock B450 PRO4 Motherboard ( Rp 1.450.000 / ~$102)
ADATA SU750 1TB SSD (Rp 1.515.000 / ~$107$)
Seagate 1TB Barracuda Series 7200RPM ( Rp 620.000 / ~$44)
Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX 3200MHZ 2x8GB RAM ( Rp 1.805.000 / ~$127)
Zotac Geforce GTX 1080Ti Mini ( Rp 9.181.000 / ~$647)
NZXT H500 White ( Rp 1.160.000 / ~$82)
Seasonic Focus Gold 650GC 650W Power Supply 80+ Gold Certified (Rp 1.280.000 / ~$90)

This build in total would cost for Rp 21.821.000 or around $1537 (Prices are based on enterkomputer.com/simulasi.php)

Now i have several questions about this build:

1. Will this build be futureproof? I am looking for around 3-5 years of high FPS Gaming at atleast High Settings without the need to upgrade parts like CPU, GPU, or RAM.

2. Would it be better if i spend more money on a better motherboard? I chose the B450 PRO4 motherboard because it was cheap and have mediocre reviews (I would not be overclocking the 2700X as of now, don't know yet in the next 3-5 years) I was thinking of spending more money for the B450 Aorus Wifi motherboard, cause i could use the 4.2 Bluetooth on my Sony BT Headphone but i could also add an expansion card on the Mobo for that.

3. Is the ADATA SSD reliable enough? This is a cheap 1TB SSD that i found (Samsung 860 Evo 1TB is Rp 2.665.000 or $188 and WDC Blue 1TB SSD is Rp 2.200.000 or $155), i don't really know much about SSD, what i care about is for its fast boot time on Windows and Games.

4. Is the PSU good enough for this build in terms of quality and reliability (again, don't know much about PSU).

5. Should i go for Ryzen 5 2600(non X)/X instead of the 2700X? Now the things to note is that i might occasionally stream games that i would mostly play like CS:GO, Apex Legends, and PUBG (Mostly multiplayer FPS games), i would like to have a stable FPS preferably 100+ and might edit and render videos.

6. IF the 1080 Ti is no longer available here, which GPU should i pick, the cheapest RTX 2080 here is the Inno 3D X2 OC (Rp 11.600.000 / ~$817) and that would bring the total to Rp 24.925.000 / $1755 or should i go for the RTX 2070, the cheapest one is the Zotac Mini which is Rp 8.035.000 / $566 which would make the total price to Rp 21.360.000 or $1504

I am though still waiting to receive my prize money as it hasn't been given to me (should received it by the end of May). I can also wait as i am in no urgency to upgrade my PC (my old PC is still working fine and capable of gaming though are having FPS drops) and might also wait for the Ryzen 3000 Series and the Navi GPU.

Please help me answering my questions and thank you in advance :)

Here are my answers to your questions:

1. I would wait. Next gen Ryzen CPUs are due this summer and 10nm Intel CPUs later this year. They are projected to have a nice bump in performance. If you want the system to last longer, get the newest tech.

2. The B450 Pro4 is a good budget mobo. But it wont have a lot of features, so if you want one with more features, then go for it.

3. That SSD does not have any DRAM so I would not buy it. It would be fine as a secondary drive, but for a boot drive I would go with a Crucial MX500. With that being said, the SU750 is still light years faster than a HDD and Adata quality is fine.

4. Yes, Seasonic Focus Gold is an excellent PSU for the cost.

5. See answer to 1, I would wait.

6. Again, I would wait on this build till summer and see what the new CPUs and GPUs look like. Nvidia's 2xxx GPUs are very high and some competition will lower prices. But if you want it now and can get a 1080ti for $200 less than a 2080, then go for it because performance is very similar between the cards.

Can you explain to me how DRAM affects performance? I don't need a long explanation about what DRAM is, i just need to know how it affects performance and is it a big one to consider as my primary drive for application and games. Thank you for the answers aswell!:)

Here is an article that goes deep into DRAMless SSDs.

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/dramless-ssd-roundup,4833.html

Basically, the SSD has its own RAM, just like your computer. The DRAM on the SSD is much faster than the SSD itself and utilizing the DRAM makes the SSD run much faster and will last longer. DRAMless SSDs are inexpensive, but they have bad warranties and there performance is not even close to a SSD with DRAM. Considering SSDs are really cheap right now, you can get a decent SSD with DRAM for not much more than one without.

I am assuming you are in India, so I would go with this:

PCPartPicker Part List: https://in.pcpartpicker.com/list/FKwWM8

Storage: Crucial - MX500 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive (₹12180.00 @ Amazon India)
Total: ₹12180.00
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

I am in Indonesia and they dont offer a 1TB MX500, the only major brand i know that my country offers are Samsung 860 EVO and QVO, WDC Blue and Black, and ADATA SU750 and SX8200PRO. The SX8200PRO is priced at Rp 2.238.000 or $157 and WDC Blue is at Rp 2.200.000 $155, should i go for the SX8200PRO? It's Nvme right and is supposed to perform better? or should i just go for the WDC Blue
