[SOLVED] Getting low fps when playing on TV but great fps on Laptop

Greetings

so here's the problem, when i play Control on my laptop, i get solid 60fps on 1080p max settings. However, when i connect the laptop to my 4k tv, the fps drop dramatically. There are stutters and the fps are still low even after i drop to low settings (resolution was kept at 1080p). Can anyone suggest a fix for it. I have gtx 1060maxq with 16GB ram and core i7 7th gen.

are you sure you are running 1080p max on your laptop with a maxQ?

even the regular desktop 1060 6gb is only able to give 35-40fps

Are you sure that when running the TV the game is using the 1060 and not the integrated gpu on the CPU?

I doubt the game would even load with the HD Graphics 630
