i have had loads of problems recently concerning ram. i had a ram stick where i would receive the POST led code 55. so i stopped using that 8gb ram stick i now only use 1x8gb stick and everything runs fine. recently i bought another stick of ram because i thought my old one failed and when i installed the ram by literally just opening my case and putting it in a slot and booting, i got into windos and kept constantly getting BSODs ALL of them different i cant even remember them all now so what i did was just reinstall winds withthe 1x8gb stick that i had previous to buying the recent one and everything is fine. but i am scared to buy another stick of ram and installing it incase this happens again and i have to reinstall windows, refund the ram and continue on with only 8gb. i really need help what is the problem im having :( my specs are...

intel core i7 2700k
gtx 1050ti (inno3d 1xfan)
novatech 750w psu
1x8gb crucial sport ballistix ddr3 1600mhz
2tb barracuda seagate 7200rpm hdd
asus maximus iv gene-z

thanks.

Are You tryin the same colored slots? From Asus:
2 DIMM: Supports one pair of modules inserted into eithor the blue slots or the black slots as one pair of Dual-channel memory configuration"
What is the exact part number of the modules you are trying to use and the one that works? "Crucial sport ballistix ddr3 1600mhz" Tells us nothing without a part number. Crucial doesn't show any Ballistix for your board unless they are discontinued. They don't show discntinued modules like Kingston. The Ballistix modules in my signature are discontinued also but at one time they showed for my board.

Ok I did some research and the 16 GB kit ,the part number you need is BLS2KIT8G3D1609DS1S00 ,the single 8GB number is BLS8G3D1609DS1S00. You motherboard is asus maximus iv gene-z /GEN3 on the end=red and black ram sockets. BLS2KIT8G3D1609DS1S00 can be found on Amazon or eBay because they are discontinued , https://www.amazon.com/Ballistix-Single-PC3-12800-240-Pin-Memory/dp/B006YG9EEW?th=1,
Ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Crucial-16...030898?hash=item42056f7072:g:19UAAOSwa~1dOJ4e

New crucial memory is only like the "Value ram" here https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/ASUS/maximus-iv-gene-z-gen3

OK so what your telling me is that I need the 16gb kit? But what is confusing me is the 2 8gb kits that I have used to work fine then one day it just stopped working only allowing one of the 2 8gb sticks to work. I appreciate the research what are your thoughts?

I am confused, You have 2-8GB kits so that is 4 sticks of each 4GB apiece, right? Have you tested them individually with Memtest86? You test indiviually then in pairs until you get errors. https://www.memtest86.com/technical.htm
How to use :

I will tell you what happened to me, When I built My P43T board I put Kingston hyper-fury X stick in , 4-2gb sticks. Ok this worked fine for a couple of years then I started getting blue screens. After investigation I found the Kingston sticks were not recomended in their memory finder for my board and by that time they didn't make memory compatible with my board anymore. What was strange I could put in 3 sticks of the Kingston and had no errors?I went with Crucial and bought 2-4GB Balistix compatable with my board. Even from them when I ran memtest one of the sticks checked bad with Memtest86 and they sent me a new pair. That model number is discontinued now So I maxed out with used sticks off ebay for $30 a pair.

OK thanks for the reply I have 2x BLS8G3D1609DS1S00, so 2 single 8gb ram sticks. I no longer get bluescreens. The ram I got bluescreens with has been refund and sent back to the seller the problem I am having is with the error code 55 on my board the screen stays black the second I press my pc's power button and on my board the LED troubleshooting code says 55 and does not even allow me to proceed to the bios just a black screen. The whole reason I wanted to ask for a fix on the bluescreens was because I am worried that if I bought ANOTHER stick of ram would the blue screens happen again. Also my pc is currently only allowing me to use 1 of the "BLS8G3D1609DS1S00"s. If I were to buy another stick for an upgrade what ram model do I buy?
Thank you so much I appreciate your help.
