So my system is composed of:
I3-6100
Gtx 1050 (Not ti)
H110M-D
4gb 2133mhz ddr4 gskill ripjaws x 8gb ddr4 2400mhz ddr 4 gskill ripjaws (no idea how this works but this has been in my system for a year)

thats basically my main components, I would love to know which cpu (and mobos compatible to the cpu ofc) could I buy to upgrade. Im currently just looking forward to just upgrading my cpu since games like fortnite eat up my cpu (ik that gtx 1050 is <Mod Edit> but wouldnt it be better if I upgrade my cpu first since its pretty <Mod Edit>, and I am also on a limited budget) could you guys help me ya boi needs some upgrading. Ill upgrade first my cpu then save up for a better gpu and finally another 8gb 2400 to match the mhz of my ram and not waste those excess 200 plus mhz 😕. Thanks!

I would look for either a i5-6500, i5- 7500 or an i7-6700, i7-7700. Do not buy any of them new, they are not worth the msrp. Look around on eBay or even facebook marketplace. Also don't be afraid to buy some cheap HP, Dell, Lenovo etc prebuilt that has the CPU and pull it for your system. Weirdly sometimes buying old office computers with these CPUs is cheaper then people are selling the cpu by itself for.

I would say the i5 is worth 40-60 USD used and an i7 should be more then 90-100 USD. Used intel CPUs are very overpriced by people selling them.

You also may want to consider just save up and upgrading to a new platform all together

I included new RAM since what you have is slow and Ryzens do better with faster stuff.

You could sell what you have any probably have almost enough to buy all these parts with it.

Disregarding the “broke” aura of my thread, what other upgrades will be well worth it for a “budget friendly” upgrade?

I was mistaken, I am using a hyperx 2133 4gb and 2400 8gb.

for upgrades Ill be setting a budget of 400$

obviously I would need a new mobo and cpu and ram. What could those be?

What could be a great upgrade for my 1050 gpu? Would you recommend to upgrade first my cpu mobo and ram (maybe get an ssd) then later upgrade my gpu?

thanks man, I am really sorry for asking too much. Thank you for your response tho, I greatly appreciate it!

Please keep it to 1 thread

H110M-D
4gb 2133mhz ddr4 hyperx
x 8gb ddr4 2400mhz ddr 4 hyperx

At that kind of budget, you can improve to a pretty decent budget pc, especially if you're willing to go ryzen. I'm guessing you're reusing your psu, hard drive(s), case, etc. If you can safely reuse your psu and its 450w bronze or better you should be fine with that. In that case my recommendation would be to browse ebay and go for used hardware. You get a lot more for your money.

For the motherboard I would go with the b450 tomahawk or a budget asrock b450. The cpu I would suggest a ryzen 5 1600 af if you can find it for a decent price or a 2600. Make sure it includes a cooler if your current one doesn't support am4. For your graphics card, you can easily pick up an rx 580 for about $100-150 or a vega 56 if you can stretch the extra 50. After that, get a 240 gb ssd to hold your operating system and a few games if you don't have one already. If you have anything left over, then I would upgrade your ram to a matching 16gb kit 3200 speed or better, but the cpu, mobo and gpu are the main upgrades for your pc. For the power supply, if you absolutely must upgrade it, you can again, browse ebay or on wednesday go to evga for their midweek madness and get a psu for $20-30.

First steps are to make sure you have at a minimum a half decent psu ($20-30), then the gpu ($100-200), then the ssd if you don't have one ($30-50), then the cpu/mobo (about $180-250), then the ram. Overall for cpu/gpu/mobo, your looking at between 300-400 right there for a significant increase in fps if you're looking for gaming. For productivity, I might switch the 1600af for a used 1700.

Hope this advice helps, and good luck with the upgrades

You don't have a lot of budget to work with but an upgrade is still within reach if you are able to use your existing power supply, which you did not list.

thanks for the response and suggestions! I live in the Philippines and I saw a listing for about 290$ for an MSI b450 tomahawk max am4 w ddr4 socket and Ryzen 5 3600 am4 3.6 ghz, do you think this is a great deal and is r5 3600 better than r5 1600 af?

The cost here in California is about the same. You still need to buy memory. The 3600 is a newer and better CPU than the 1600.
Passmark Comparison

Hi so Im torn between the price of the 2 cpus namely r5 3600 and the 3600x and im also unsure on the bios capability.

1st build:
r5 3600
Msi b450 tomahawk MAX

2nd build:
R5 3600x
Gigabyte b450 aorus m mobo

Do I have to update my bios for these?

The MSI b450 max supports 3rd generation regardless of bios revisions, thus the top build will 100% not need a bios update.

The Gigabyte B450 Aorus M does support 3rd generation, however, it will need a semi-recent bios revision. Look for "Ryzen 3000 compatible" in the listing or on the motherboard box. You will have to ask the retailer if you do not know.
