Question How do i insert a dvd disc into this old samsung dvd driver on my desktop?

I never used this dvd rom before and now i am trying to install windows 10 from a disc. But i cant find the correct way to insert the dvd. There isn't a holder in the center like the most of the laptops dvd rom has where the disc easily sits. There is no such holder in the center and i also think it was installed into the case upside down because the samsung logo and the dvd logo are upside down. I tried slipping the disc into it from downwards as it seemed to be fitting. But it doesnt insert properly and the disc is either ejected automatically or it drops before i complete closing the tray. i tried every possible way i can think of but cant find the right way. can anyone help me telling how to insert the disc into this?

On the drive property it shows TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-224DB. i also attached some pics of the dvd tray in the post.

Oh and one more thing, on my computer section it shows two drives named cd drive(I) and dvd rw drive(H). but the (I) doesnt eject only (H) does. i am not sure if its because of the ultraiso installed on my computer.

Please tell me how to insert the disc properly as i need to do it urgent to install clean windows on this pc.

The drive is upside down. The disc goes in on the other side.

no. i captured it right way as you can see the table cloth below it on which the desktop is placed. how do i insert the disc into it?

Well your correct it's upside down the whole DVD Drive . Is it in the machine like this. So two choice's un screw it take it out and flip it over or flip you whole PC upside down , install your window than flip it back over.

The physical drive is installed in the PC, upside down.

You cannot do it in its current configuration.

Remove the drive from the PC, flip it over, and reinstall it.

Shiny side down, You should be able read label while DVD is in the drawer before drawer closes.

It may also work if you have the laptop in a vertical position such that the drive is vertical. If so keep it in that position until windows has installed. If you are doing a clean installation and wiping the C drive clean I suggest you make sure the CD is your boot drive

okey but now the problem is that the dvd driver is not receiving any discs. the tray keeps opening whether i insert a disc or not. it just opens by itself just after its inserted.

bro you guessed it right it was in fact sitting on its head. now i made it correct way up and the dvd drive is the right way up. but now the problem is the tray keeps opening by itself after i close it whether there is a disc or not. Its like there is something foreign object in the dvd drive and its not accepting as a proper disc and pushes the tray back open.

Well now your issue is when pushing the drawer in to close if to much pressure is used you jump a tooth on the gears and the DVD drawer is now in forever conflict.

Can you not just make a USB install media for your Windows.

Replace the drive, they are not user serviceable. Given all the dirt and munge visible in the photos I'm surprised the system even powers up.

yeah now i am gonna do that, install windows from usb flash drive. and is there any way to fix the dvd drawer issue?
