"The garments were chosen specifically by them over a period of 2-3 weeks of them looking at photographs of the girls," she told the Sydney Mo.

2-3 weeks of looking at the photographs of the girls..clothed in bikini's mind you, very active imaginations at microsoft or just really hard up?

"she didn't know what all the fuss was about, as the Meter Maids were just as attentive to the women as they were the men."

ahahahahahaaa +1 to Jane just for reporting that comment, thanks made my day. btw Jane what's your take on this, female envy, demeaning to women, or great work for the girls less fortunate in the IQ department? enough guys on here fawn on you as you like you're were a booth babe, you've got the IQ on everything involved here. so what say you? any dissenters in the office on that?

[citation][nom]JackNSally[/nom]Objectifying women? If they are so objectified why are women doing it?[/citation]

Same reason why there are women out there that say strippers are objectified. Yet the men are the ones who leave with no money.

Huh...

Who in their right mind thought having scantly clad women at a conference that has a Women in IT conference?! The unprofessionalism, besides the sexism, is astounding.

Also, those "bikinis" look really uncomfortable.

LMAO that is Australia = that is ugly men, you should see the real good looking women there.
MS could likely not find the real good looking women and no self respecting Ausi chick would have anything to do with MS not even for USD$1M.

If only MS was not so nerdy retarded "Mentally Challenged" they would have had good looking women there in gold bikini's not this chubby ugly men.

PS> So what is the big deal with having ugly men in Gold bikini's at a MS function ? These Ausi ugly men "Chicks"in gold" wrestle crocs before breakfast the good looking chicks from OZ will likely be late for this function.

In OZ they are used to good looking women and would not notice this ugly men in gold bikini's .

Eh, I knew you guys would miss the point. One of the key conferences was "Women in IT." It's hard to argue against it being in bad taste and a stupid idea. There's a time and a place for booth babes, and this wasn't one of them. You certainly wouldn't be chirping your stupidity if it was on the reserve side and there were "booth hunks" instead. Reading the comments section on here just makes me sad for the intelligence and social abilities of the people on here.

If it was just some random conference that wasn't focused on female IT professionals, then I'd agree it's a non-issue. But even then, most computer nerds can't handle being near an attractive girl without acting retarded or shooting a load in their pants.

It's not about "the rights of women to objectify themselves". It hurts other women too obviously. Geez you have two images of women: 1) that unattractive work in IT, and 2) that the pretty ones should be showing off... are you guys serious? What have you just done?

In fact most of the men on here are even committing that the ugly ones are in IT and complaining and the attractive ones are models....ergo, the women have been objectified!

Most of y'all are cheering the scantily clad women and dissing the unattractive ones. So, what message does that send do you think?

Its a non-issue. Its nice to have pretty women to rid the room of the sausage fest. There are very few women in IT its less than 15% becuase women don't want to work long hours or on the weekends they care more about having a social life. Having booth babes gives pretty women a job.

Wow. I would say there are very few women in IT because of all the pervs and the sexist, male-centric attitude. And saying women don't work IT because they don't want to work long hours or on the weekends is pretty sexist. I seriously hope you are being sarcastic.

one of the key conferences at TechEd was on 'Women in IT
The key words are, one of, so it it wasn't just for woman. These woman need too lighten up, and come to terms with the fact, woman like to show, men like to look.

people who complain are usually lacking in the field they are complaining about. sexy women = they prolly arent hot at all, long work hours = they prolly have never worked REALLY long hours.

[citation][nom]Swedish male 30y Biotech engineer[/nom]"Choosing" a profession that puts you in an objectified position, such as sex work, stripping, porn or booth-babe is hardly ever a consequence of "free will". Many of the (in this case) girls would probably proudly present their occupation as a result of their own preference. However, an established demand-and-supply chain, a culture of objectifying women, huge differences in what self-images are created when girls and boys are raised, a job-market skewed towards promoting men, all these aspects of society leaves the "free will" to be vastly filtered towards the underlying cultural themes. I'm amazed that the commenters so far lack this basic understanding of underlying rules in society today.. Not that these are unchangeable things of course, we're moving towards more equality of genders, but those of you who think that becoming a "booth babe" is just a matter of free choice and results in no harm should really begin questioning your views..[/citation]

Show me the law saying they have to do it.. Or the person holding the gun to thier head. They have the free choice to do it. They might not like the other choices they might have at the time or like being a model instead of the other choice but it is still a choice.

With this logic i can say a plumber is being objectified and swayed in devious ways because his father was a plumber and was teaching him how to do it so he him self became one.

Shove your psyco babble in your.... O and please for the love of god show me the harm that they simply have no choice but to keep inflicting on them selves. since there is someone always there with a gun to thier heads telling them they cant leave or are un whilling to take a job that pays less or is actualy demeaning.

Feminists have been taking away men's fun for decades, and this past decade or so have been enc'roach'ing, yes I said 'roach', on more and more areas where men had a place to call their own, a haven from the politically correct crap that has plagued our society. Men cannot be men and enjoy themselves, we have to conform to what women want us to be... i.e. miserable.

Come on guys, don’t be suck womanizing jerks. This was obviously in poor taste and disrespectfully to professional women trying to be seen as equals in the IT industry, and not as sex objects for perverted men to gawk at. It was wrong, and never should have happened.

So, just a few ugly, fat, nerdy bitxhes that were so ashamed of themselves complain about it and it makes the whole thing wrong ?

I have no problem with it, who is listening to me ? So their complain is valid, my opinion is not ?

btw, there were like what 2700 people at the show? Im sure 2650 of them have no problem with it including ladies. I thought this world is always about the bigger group wins. Now its the other way around, just a few whining little girl and people are being "forced" to listen to your sorry ass. Sad.

wow you said everything I wanna say.

I hate those called "Feminist" group, sure I respect women hell I mean every great men has a mom. but jesus these Feminist activist people are just so full of themselves. No one forced those women to dress like that to be on a show. So how is that wrong? Its just a job. not like she killed anybody or anything. People still focus on the show.

I hate Feminist movement. they just want to drag everybody (including women) into their boring, sad, and pathetic life. my god.

Kate Carruthers ? Is that her on FB?

if that is her then I can see why she complained about those girls at the booth ... hahahahahaha. pure jealousy
