Hey!
I am trying to boot from my intel 660p M.2 NVME but when I install it into my motherboard, BIOS doesn't launch. When I boot without it installed, BIOS works fine, until I insert it again, which then freezes BIOS. This SSD has windows 10 installed and worked in my previous PC, which I currently don't have anymore for testing unfortunately.

I'm inserting into the upper, M2_1 slot of my B450 Steel Legend MB, which has a pretty new BIOS version (4.1).
BIOS: Storage configuration:
SATA Port Enable: Enabled
Force M2_2 to support PCIe type device: auto
SATA mode: AHCI
SATA Hot Plug: Disabled

Fast boot: Disabled
CSM: Enabled
Launch PXE OpROM Policy: UEFI Only (other options are Legacy Only, and Do Not launch)
Launch Storage OpROM Policy: UEFI Only (same options ^)

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Boxed
ASRock B450 Steel Legend
Asus DUAL GeForce RTX 3070 OC Edition
Corsair Hydro Series H150i PRO RGB 360mm
Intel 660p 1tb NVME
PNY XLR8 MD32GK2D4320016XRGB
EVGA 650 B5

Thanks!!!

I just dis- and reconnected a bunch of cables and now the lower slot works and it boots up windows! The upper one still doesn't work though..

You seriously need to consider a fresh OS install with this new system.
Even though it 'boots up', problems are likely to appear.

Hey there,

So just to get this right, you're using an SSD with Win 10 on it from a different PC, and it's not booting on your new machine?

If so, and as @USAFRet has said, this will all be resolved with a clean OS install.

Also, you mentioned that when you take the SSD out it boots fine? Meaning the boot record is on another drive. Therein lies your issue.
