It is possible that the Keyevent.dll (Dynamic Link Library) file is corrupt on
the CD. Try to install the scanner by using XP's plug&play feature.
Delete anything you have installed so far relating to the Scanner. Turn PC
off and plug in the scanner. XP's plug&play feature should pop a balloon
that new hardware was found and ask you if you want to install it. It will
then install or ask you to insert the installation CD. If it is corrupt it
will so
respond. You can get the latest drivers for the scanner below.
