Windows 10 is poorly programmed,a mix of source codes from Windows 8 and Windows 7 + a few changes and that's Windows 10,I have tested a lot of Operating systems,From Windows 95 to the latest version of 10,complex software that i used in Windows 7 didn't work at all with Windows 10,
I have experiecnced a lot of weird bugs and problems, from start menu crashes,Windows Store crashes, and installed software that suddenly do not run.
Complex simulations and emulations won't even start.
It also effects games, and the most embarssing thing is the a game from Microsoft themselves crashes because of Windows 10...
and it's Quantum Break:

Windows 10 doesn't care about me
from forcing me to have useless software,to send my data to the microsoft servers for the use of ads,
That data worth money and microsoft just take it from you, with the opearting system you have paid for.
I used Windows 10 Enterprise 64bit which is not targeted from the avearge user,
It has the most features, even more than the pro version and still has the useless software and one drive that in normal ways you can't delete it.
and the updates just do whatever they want...

Conclusion
Windows 10 the most unstable OS i have ever seen, even Windows Vista's code was much better.
I spent more time on fixing problems than using the OS.
After removing all the junk and spying with DWS(http://dws.wzor.net/) The system used less than 1GB of ram on idle,no internet usage with DWS on idle,no stupid pop ups.
even after DWS and disabling manually windows update,I had a problem with the UI...
There are 2 things drom everything- 2 control panels (Settings and Control Panel),2 Music players (Groove music player and Windows media Player)...
Why not having one control panel for everything?,Why all of this mess and confusion?
Why forcing users to use "One drive" and other useless things the uses the system's resources?
I use Windows 7 on all my computers and dual boot with Windows 10 on my main computer for DX12 games only...
I bought almost evey Windows version since Windows 95,
I own: 95,98,XP Proffesional,Vista Home Premium,7 Ultimate,I tested Windows 10 Enterprise in the lab of my work place.
Windows 7 was very stable even from it's early versions,I decided to use the RC version in my main computer until the RT version is released.

Solution

Ye I kind of am already. Got my very first smart phone contract about 3 months ago (my parents were owners of my pervious phone contracts) and on that very same day I had FIVE call centre calls about weird stuff like insurance, loans and dating stuff... I phoned up car phone warehouse and they denied all responsibility.

Like Google and Apple already do for most of the "basic" humans out there who only need an iphone+imac/pad or Android phone + just something to access the internet that has a keyboard attached.

MS is kind of "behind the times" on the connectivity thing, but they've always had the biggest market share so when they start to connect all their products together it's more noticeable.

Too many people have serious issues separating fantasy from reality, and this is coming from a guy who spends 4 hours every Friday playing Dungeons and Dragons.

How's this for "Damned with faint praise": Ain't no-how as bad as Win95 was!

I've found it PITA in a number of ways. Some minor (I have upped my Perms as high as possible; it still frequently asks me to OK a certain action.), some not so minor (Ehh? I can't copy this file? and I can't edit that one?! Screw you M$!!) and one major: when I went to tweak my LAN adapter it went into "Missing Protocol" mode from which (apparently) there is no fix. So I //have to// go WiFi.

Fortunately it's on my secondary box ... mostly text work ... so I've learned the lesson with minimal down-side.
My mission-critical box is Win7-64 and is staying there. (Venerable old laptop about to go from Vista to Linux.)

Long/short? no upside perceived.

If you go into the privacy part of Windows settings you can dissable all the data collection.

Not really, but there is software that can do it for you in a couple of clicks.

It comes from a known entity, Spybot.
No different than running 'some random anti-virus I found on the internet'.

@USAFRet my bad, didn't realize there was a go-to, known app for that. I thought I remembered seeing at least a couple apps/scripts floating around claiming to fix windows 10 privacy and I didn't think they all necessarily came from known/reputable sources. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong.

Ashampoo has one aswell, but Spybot's is more comprehensive.

Oh, I'm quite sure there are some sketchy ones out there. Just like every other category of software, free or paid.

I've been using Windows 10 since the first insider release and I am very happy with it overall.

Now that said, there are some issues with it. Namely sound. Sound is basically broken in Windows 10 and has been for a year.

SPDIF and 5 channel rarely work properly and if they do, it is because you happen to be in a lucky week. I've used 3 different chipset configurations (with various realteks), multiple creative cards, etc. It is well known that sound is and has been broken for a long, long time in this OS.

Outside of that? I love the OS.

My experience with Windows 10 has been mixed like others.

Had all my computers in the household (5 of them) upgrade to Windows 10 when it first came out. Was pretty pumped for it since I heard about all this new stuff that Windows 10 had to offer.

One of my desktops took it okay, but not that great. After the windows 10 upgrade from Windows 7, the desktop just began crashing over and over again(and it never crashed before so that was rather alarming). Turns out it was the silly drivers that weren't working well with the new Windows 10. I still do have occasional problems to this day though. Sometimes the start menu and the taskbar icons refuse to respond anymore. You can click on them all day and nothing happens. Have to reboot the system every time it happens. Need to figure out the solution to that. Otherwise, Windows 10 doesn't run too bad on this desktop.

My high-end gaming desktop took the upgrade very well. It was upgraded from Windows 8.1 and I had no issues with it whatsoever.

Another desktop in the house upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 just fine as well. No problems seen on there either.

My Toshiba laptop that upgraded to Windows 10 took it pretty poorly. It could not activate itself worth its life. I waited two weeks for that thing to activate but it didn't and contacting Microsoft Support is a nightmare as they have no idea what they are doing. Kept Windows 10 for a while and then changed back to Windows 7.

A Dell laptop took the update the worst. It upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The laptop crashed several times every day after the upgrade, no matter what I tried to do to change it. Upon trying to factory reset it after backing up everything, Windows 10 just failed miserably. There was error after error occurring with trying to factory reset the computer. Nothing worked. I had to take a bootable flash drive with Windows 7 on it and just reinstalled that back on. Worked fine ever since.

Everyone is entitled to their personal opinions as everyone had different experiences with Windows 10. There are just several things that bother me about Windows 10. There are so many features that are just thrown in Windows 10 that I will never use like Cortana, Tablet Mode, One Drive, and about the other 10 billion apps that Windows 10 has. I also feel like there is such a privacy issue with Windows 10. Microsoft wants to know everything about you. I already went through my privacy settings and tried to make my information as private as possible but there are loopholes and stuff you don't see. There is just so much junk on Windows 10, it takes up a ton of space and power from your computer. Have you ever seen the side-by-sides of Windows 10 compared to Windows XP? 10 has an endless list of stuff!

I wouldn't really recommend Windows 10 to anyone anymore, but it does beat other operating systems like Windows 8 and Windows Vista(doesn't take much to beat Vista though..)

Again, this is just my personal opinion on Windows 10. I bet some people had great success with Windows 10 and are loving it.

IDK. Microsofts Tay Bot is pretty damn advanced and was easily pushed to the dark side. Wouldn't be surprised if Cortana gets corrupted and starts the end of the human race a la Arnold Schwarzenegger robots.

Nah. I sort of like a normal capitalist society where people pay for a decent product and create jobs so people can afford to live in decent homes and eat.

And I feel bad for you.

Games are a hobby that help plenty of people relax from the "real work" they do. I do plenty of "real work" at work. Home should be a place that is inviting and relaxing, not stressful like work already is.

I've had mixed results with Windows 10 upgrade. I have upgraded about 5 machines from Windows 7 to 10 (one of them twice now). So far I've had a couple issues, but nothing major. I've upgraded 2 client PC's that upgraded flawlessly and continue to operate that way. The other 3 are my families machines and 2 have had issues.
Older desktop, Intel C2Q Q9550, MSI P35 Platinum, Radeon 6870 and 8gb DDR2 800mhz. This machine has been flawless and the Windows 7 drivers carried over into 10 so all the hardware, despite it's age, works. The only crashes have been related to Flash Player when multiple Firefox tabs are open.
My laptop, Dell Inspiron 1720, With upgraded CPU to T9500, 4gb DDR2 667mhz, has been having issues with the wireless adapter. Whenever I shut the computer down, I have to troubleshoot the adapter upon logging in to get it working. But it will work until I turn it off again. I haven't taken the time to troubleshoot the issue, but it is a problem that didn't occur in Windows 7. Being a laptop from 2008, I'm not surprised there was something like this.
The last machine is my Niece's laptop and in this case, Windows 10 exposed the problems is was having. once upgraded, the machine wouldn't stay on for more than 5 minutes. After reverting it back to Windows 7, this didn't improve. Turns out the Motherboard and CPU were damaged and the Windows 10 upgrade either exposed it or just happened to coincide with the upgrade. I ended up replacing the parts and upgraded the CPU at the same time (Pentium to i3). It has been just recently that she upgraded to Windows 10 again and now works perfect.

I have to admit that I don't care for the tiles on the Start menu, and this was what put me off to Windows 8. I recently installed Start10 and now, then only thing I miss is my gadgets. I liked having the "All CPU Meter". The Wifi adapter issue is just one I need to research and is likely easily resolvable. (Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG)

Windows 10 is a kind of a mixed bag for me, I don't love it, but don't hate it. I haven't tried it on my main desktop yet, which is the only machine I have right now that would probably benefit from it (the one in my sig).

Don't use counterfeit parts

My personal experience has mostly been a negative one from windows 10,
first time i upgraded to windows 10from 7 on my desktop all was fine and it didnt seem like there was any issues but my harddrive died so i needed to reinstall, on the second go it looked all fine as well and this time there was no games or additional software that didnt need to be on and worked perfectly for the first day.
turned it on the next morning to find out that i no longer had a dvd drive as it got replaced with a floppy drive which the missing dvd drive issue seems to still plauge quite a few people even after a year.
that along with the mobile/laptop friendly settings arrangement really annoys the hell out of me, even more so when to access the same settings you have to go though the new settings to get to control panel and there is also settings that are there but have no use on a desktop like your battery settings and so forth.

i have also had to reinstall windows 10 twice on my laptop (only because of hadware and technician faults) and both times i i have to reinstall most support drivers with some annoyances just to get basic laptop functions back.

i still prefer windows 7 as it is a complete IS i still fell like 10 is still in a beta trial and error mode.

So you never used Windows ME then I take it? Because ME was the worst Windows OS by a mile.

And the reason why there is not one Control Panel is because 10 is a all in one OS and the "Settings" is a touch friendly overlay for the Control Panel. Since Microsoft is trying to make a similar OS experience across all devices, it makes sense.

And I am wondering, what pop ups are you getting? I have installed 10 on a lot of systems and have yet gotten any popups beyond the normal notifications for software or for my email on my work PC.
