Question Why can't I display my BIOS!?

Short and simple story is, my bios will not display at all. The first thing I see on my monitor is the windows log in screen. If i button mash 'DEL' to enter the BIOS, the screen will stay black.

Motherboard: MSI B350 Tomahawk
CPU: Ryzen 1600x
Graphics: Gigabyte 1080 ti extreme

I've tried clearing the CMOS, booting with one stick of RAM, to no avail.

The only problem I have with that solution, is that I do not have a UEFI option under troubleshoot.

Maybe one of the last 2 on this list will work for you. It sounds like when you setup the BIOS you turned on fastboot or ultrafast boot which makes it impossible to get into the BIOS from POST.

Even in legacy mode you can have fast boot turned on. What did you do to clear your CMOS?

Dumb question: Ever tried accessing it with F2 instead of Delete? Some MSI MBs use a different key

I used a jumper to short the CMOS

Remove the battery and have the system unplugged. After that use the jumper to short the CMOS, that will make sure that it will clear.

Have you actually disabled fast startup via the power options?
I understand clearing CMOS should do the same, but just checking.

Have you also held Shift whilst pressing restart to bypass normal boot?

Missing information:

The monitor is ???
Cable used to connect to monitor is?
The Windows installation is holdover from a previous PC Build or a newly installed Windows 10 installation?

Based on the information you have listed, it is possible the monitor is not capable of displaying the proper BIOS resolution.

Is there a reason you choose to do the Windows 10 installation in legacy mode?
