Hello everyone.

I recently tried to install Xubuntu 20.04 onto my system, but for some reason, the installer doesn't detect my 1TB hard drive at all.
It only recognizes the flash drive that I'm using to install Xubuntu with.

The same thing happens when I'm trying to install Mint as well, but compared to both distros, Windows 10 detects my HDD just fine.

The drive is also in good health with no errors to report, so it's not failing at all currently.

Solution
Have you figured it out yet ?

If not:
  • Enter bios setting - does it report the HDD ?
  • What HW? Ps - while in Linux Live session, you can open terminal and write sudo inxi -Fxmz - then paste the result here. Ps2: if it ask for root psw, it's probably just "root".
  • Open Gparted (should be included in Live session on most Linux distros) and see it it's able to see/detect the disk.
Then you should be able to tell if the OS can actually see the hdd.
