Hi.
I an editor and a gamer. I need a headphone or headset for both needs.
*When it comes to sound quality, editing is more important.
*I also need a great and clear mic for gaming.
*I don't want a separate mic because of space.
*I'm OK with the combination of headphone and boom. or any other suggestion
*Budget is 125 USD. I might be ok with higher prices in certain options.
*Last of all, surround sound will be appreciated but it's not very important.
*Being comfortable is really important.
Thanks.

Wait and save up, or buy second hand. These things are built very well, and are in production for over 2 decades. That's for a reason, they have good sound quality and will last forever.

Buying second hand is a great way especially if you look in the right places.

Wonderful place to Ask about audio and hit the classifieds, there are dozen more Audio sites like it with an active classifieds section.

And look at that a pair of Sennheiser HD58XX for $115  That won't last long.

Also, work taking a shot at shame he missed the Amazon sell @ $99.

If sound quality and comfort are important, I suggest you look for professional headsets from reputable manufacturers. Though you will need to deouble your budget.
Professional headset can still be very well used for gaming, but I wouldn't try the other way around. Gaming headsets tend to over-emphasize BASS, and sound reproduction is not very accurate.
For example, AKG has a nice selection of professional headsets, with reference quality sound reproduction. These are all very comfortable, with self-adjusting headband. 171 is supraaural (on-ear), 271 circumaural (over-the-ear). You can choose from different microphone types.
Pretty sure that Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic and others also have what you need, but AKG is priced very reasonably for what it is.

No gaming headset for that price range is good for editing, they are more gimmicky than accurate. A lower-cost open-back studio set with a mod mic or clip-on usb mic would probably work better and cost a little more.

HD 58X Jubilee, HD 598, HD 599, ATH M50X, DT 770 Pro "32Ω or 80Ω ", DT 990 Pro "80Ω " to name a few but there are many others depending on your tastes, all of these are also comfortable and easy to drive.

Save your money or lower your expectations, you have access to the internet and plenty of time to search/research what will work best. You could go cheaper and have good sound quality but the overall build of the headphones leaves something to be desired, any of these offer good enough sound quality for both your needs and are better options over Gaming sets for editing.

Also, solid pro brands, like AKG, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, will sell you spare parts.

For example, I have Sennehiser HD 25 for like 10 years, a popular model that is in production for 3 decades. You can buy every single part from Sennheiser, so if anything breaks, you can repair it easily and for fair amount of money.

Those AKG headsets from my first post, those are actually used in professional settings.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I definitely look into second-hand headphones. I might not be able to buy one due to some policies.
