My CPU maxes out on every game i play

Games:
Overwatch
PUBG
Fortnite
Apex legends

PC:
I5-7600k Overclocked to 4.6ghz
GTX 1070
asus z270 motherboard
240GB SSD
1TB HDD
750W PSU
16gb DDR4 2133mhz

Any Ideas?
 
Welcome to 2019....(alas, the 7600K's '4 threads only' approach was already becoming increasingly questionable when it was released)

All you can do to partially minimize any CPU related stutters (if they occur at all, who really cares about 100% usage as long as frame rates are acceptable) it is to partially overwhelm the GPU with resolution, quality and/or assorted AA settings...

A 7700K would help, but, at it's price, the 3600 and a new B450 would make more sense....and be better performing anyway....but you'd have 12 threads instead of 4.

So what im catching from this is, im gonna have to splash the cash to get my self out of this hole?

You can bandage the high CPU usage by turning up graphics settings. This is mostly a bandaid.

The ONLY real solution is to upgrade to a processor with more threads.

I find this video very informative. It demonstrates how the 7600k was a great gaming CPU in 2017 beating out the Ryzen 5 1600 in nearly every game due to the I5s great single threaded performance.

Now in 2019, modern games saturate the 4 threads of the 7600k and the Ryzen 5 1600 delivers a higher average framerate in many cases and always a smoother gameplay experience. The main reason for the 12 thread 1600 outperfoming the 4 thread 7600k in many cases is due to modern games requiring more than 4 threads.

The 9600k has only 2 more cores and threads than the 7600k. This means that it is only a matter of a couple of years before the 6 threads of the 9600k get maxed out and you are back in the same situation.

In fact, currently, we are seeing 6 core 12 thread CPUs delivering higher fps and much more stable framerate than 6 core 6 threads chips.

I would consider an I7 8700k, I7 9700k or a Ryzen 5 3600. The $200 Ryzen 5 3600 ties or beats the $350 8700k with both CPUs at stock. The 9700k is more expensive but performs better than either.
The 8700k and 3600 are 6c/12t and the 9700k is 8c/8t

Im actually watching through that video rn. I suggest you do do the same.

He is testing with a 2080ti to see which is better.

With your 1070, both CPUs would be simmilar in games i believe.

Will do, just messing with ram setting. Having a weird issue where when i use xmp it drops my dram to 1000mhz. But if what your saying is true the 9600k would be better as i wouldnt have to place my motherboard to accommodate it.
