Hello all,

I am recently having a new issue where my PC makes a loud fan noise while under load, especially with gaming. More specifically it ramps up and then stops and settles.

Fan rpms while idle / under load are:
Cpu: didn't test idle / 2000rpm
Gpu: 500-1500rpm / 1700-3300 (it usually hovers at 1800 and then ramps up to 3200 and then goes back down to 1800)

Gpu is the evga GeForce 2070
Mobo is z390 aorus
Cpu is Intel i9-9900k
Cpu cooler is kraken x73

I have already:
  1. updated bios
  2. updated gpu and cpu drivers
  3. adjusted game settings to normal and max (the fan issue still occurs on both)
  4. downloaded msi afterburner, evga precision, and nzxt cam (have played around with adjusting fan curves, auto fan settings, and linking fans to spin at same rpms)
  5. ensured their is no dust and that all hardware is secured firmly

The Temps while idle / under load are:
Cpu: 33-40 / 45-50
Gpu: 47-52 / 70-75

Just wondering if this is normal and if not, how to correct it? My only thoughts are 1) the bearing on one of the fans are off? Or 2) replacing thermal paste on cpu? (not sure if cpu cooler fans affect gpu)

Thank you again in advance for all your suggestions.

Regardless of what your ambient room temps might be, the temps shown in your thread, seem to be fine for the sort of components you've got to work with. Which ZXZ390 Aorus board do you own? BIOS version for your motherboard at the time of writing? Make and model of your case and it's airflow path? Is your GPU mounted vertically in your case or horizontally with respect to the motherboard?

Z390 Aorus Ultra Gigabyte
Bios : F10
Case is Nzxt H710i

Airflow path is 3 intake in front, 1intake on bottom, 3 outflow on top and one in back. If I'm understanding it correctly?

Gpu is mounted horizontally (parallel) with respect to ground.

Thank you
